They are certainly not playing like the MEH line, amirite/amirov?

What a nice touch pass to Tavares.

I thought he may be too slow but his reach and smarts are awesome ( at the moment anyways )

- Garnie

Well he is going to slowly skate his way into the HOF. It’s not like he just got slow. I never really saw a lot of Sharks games but he’s a joy

Just kidding, I like his game but he still does some wacky things.

This is the happiest I have seen this place in 2 years. Almost all positive

I am not getting carried away because we have not faced the best teams in the league, Tampa, Carolina, Boston, Colorado, Vegas etc. This core and this goaltender also has not proven they can win a playoff round.

Having said all of that,

I have not seen a Leafs team this dominant, ever, including '93, which was maybe not so much dominance as it was toughness and defensive discipline with just enough scoring.

They destroyed Edmonton. The results were a surprise, but what was more of a surprise was how it was not close at all.

It be nice to see this leafs team go up against teams who offer strong pushback: bruins, caps, tbay, knights, and canes.

But what a series against the oilers, simply owned them.

Two things

1. Defensive play is so different this year compared to last. We’re not seeing 6-5 scores except from troll posts. They are also showing an ability to stay focused to 60 minutes more often this year. These were critically absent in previous playoff losses.

2. I haven’t seen the Avs or Knights play. I think Leafs are better than Boston and Carolina and Tampa could be a wild series (if someone doesn’t knock them off first)

Wow Leafs are great.

I love how all the Leaf narratives have fallen apart.

How is that possible if the Leafs lose 4-1?!

Tampa is still the best team, they are still dominating teams without Kucherov.
If they win the 4 games they have in hand, they would have 1 more point than the Leafs

Right now I would put the Leafs in a race for the second best team with Vegas, Colorado and Boston.

The next teir is the Canes, Florida, caps...and the wild?

You can double down and suggest they will play down to the Canucks tonight.

I believe one response had something to do with the better team having a good chance of winning last night. Was that from Max?

The Canadian division is only "bad" because the Leafs are dummying it.

I'm not betting against the Leafs right now with the way they're playing. I did that on Saturday and got burned. No Matthews no win I said. Not. Canucks are a dumpster fire. They wouldn't know defense if it bit them in the ass.
- gergeswillems

So you're saying Matthews will be back on goal a game pace?
