Friedman was saying if the Leafs do a trade with an American team, look at the 11 or 12 of March to be making that deal.
Leafs will have some time off with the 14 quarantine of said player and would only miss around 5 games or so. - zazzle
Yeah I've been saying that if Dubas makes a big deal then its likely to happen sooner than later. Dubas has done his bigger moves prior to the deadline in past years plus the 14 day quarantine. |

So here's a weird question:
If a guy spends the entire year on the taxi squad, including playoffs, does he get his name on the Stanley Cup if his team wins?
I'm assuming no. - Atomic Wedgie
I thought you need X amount games to get your name on cup.
Did Stamkos get his name on the cup as he only played like maybe 2 games during the NHL bubble playoffs. |

How much do they like him? I forget who it was, but wasn't there a guy on LTIR the whole time and buried who still got his name on the Cup? I feel like it was one of the Chicago Cups. |

I am not sure we will see any huge deals.
I would not be surprised to see Kerfoot dumped with a first or second for a good rental. Seems like a high price for a rental but I don't think the Leafs can take on salary going forward.
I am guessing that Rielly/Hyman increase comes from Kerfoot being traded and Andersen walking at the end of the year. They'll pick up a good backup goalie and platoon them next year with Woll and Campbell.

They might not have that much Cap Space after Nick Robertson fulfills his rookie bonus of winning the Conn Smythe. |

Came across this gem
Only one name has been added to the Cup against the rules over the years. When the Edmonton Oilers won their first championship in 1984, owner Peter Pocklington included his father's name, Basil Pocklington, among the names engraved. It was later scratched out with a series of Xs.
God he was such a (frank)ing bumhole. |

Probably a pipe dream but reading twitter Hall(50% retained for Kerfoot is being floated around. Kerfoot being a front loaded deal and can play C for them.
Engvall would need to prove more and they would need to go get some insurance at C.
But that would be fun. |

There has to be problems in that room or the coach or something.
They don't have a cup-contending roster, but they are way underperforming. When a kid like Yakupov is not progressing, you have to think something's up there. - Aetherial
Actually there's been many busts. |

Another good game by the Leafs.
Tonight game vs. the Canucks is going to be - zazzle
Some luke warm water on the party; so far we have had probably the easiest schedule in our division. Tonight's back-to-back against Vancouver is only our 3rd, and only our 2nd 3rd game in 4 nights this season. Fatigue may be more of a factor in the next part of the year.

If a player plays in at least 1 game in the SCF then he's eligible to get a Cup ring. Stamkos met this criteria. 2 minutes and 47 seconds. He may have qualified anyway based on number of regular season games played. |

But they get a really nice break from the 15th to the 27th with only 3 games over that stretch in time to recuperate and gear up for a busy April

Yeah its a pipe dream...but Hall does have a NMC and a house in TO.
I am sure the agreement when he signed was that Hall has a huge say in what happens to him post TDL.
The stars would have to align but if they did it would be fun. |

I would love Owen Powers or Clarke next to Rielly in the future, but not sure it's worth it tanking this year with Hall. |

Keep hearing about how people aren’t sure if the Leafs can compete outside the North Division.
They just held Connor McDavid pointless over three games using three different goalies. Guy...pretty sure they can compete outside the division. |

Just imagine.
When the Leafs win the cup and people try to argue it was an easy division you can just say "The Leafs won with Taylor Hall" |
