the world seems to be going backwards in this regard. i just read that US bishops are discouraging Catholics from taking the J&J vaccine because it used fetal tissue in the vaccine development. i mean that is straight up (frank)ing batpoop insane stuff. |

I had hoped the 4 horseman had ended theological hegemony (at least in the West), but it only takes a few years for it to slide. |

For sure.
Also, that guy looked like a character from the Simpsons.

That Paul Gauthier can match that Marc Bergeron, that's for sure!
I guess Pete only did appreciate Bob Gainey, for all he did...and mostly because he isn't french |

generally yes. ties were fine. the way the NHL settles ties now is the stupidest thing in pro sports. imagine if baseball played 1 extra inning where each team started with a runner on third and the top of the order due up, then settled any games tied after 10 with a 3-batter/1-pitch HR competition. this is what the NHL does. - DoubleDown
I'm gonna go BOLD here so here you go :
I think the current shootout system is just OK but I preferred when we had ties.

I have always hated this weird 50/50 use of soccer when they change rules
NHL: we now have shoot outs because they have that in soccer and soccer is the most popular sport
Smart people: actually, soccer has ties and only use shoot outs for international championships, and you're keeping shoot outs out of the playoffs. So you're doing the exact opposite.
NHL: blah blah blah send the fans home with a winner |

His wife and daughter in the same year, no? Or close to! And you're right, wasn't the same after that, capped off by the Gomez fiasco, he stepped down shortly after
Edit: it was 8-9 years apart, not even close... |
