generally yes. ties were fine. the way the NHL settles ties now is the stupidest thing in pro sports. imagine if baseball played 1 extra inning where each team started with a runner on third and the top of the order due up, then settled any games tied after 10 with a 3-batter/1-pitch HR competition. this is what the NHL does. |

MLB implemented that rule last season.. Not sure if it will stay long term.
Also this year the MLB plan is to use the Minor League rule with the runner on second to expedite extra-inning games ending, since the spring will be short, the schedule will be tight and there’s a desire to avoid 15-inning games and longer.

And sadly it makes sense. Baseball needs young people who want shorter games and are ok with the gimmicks. Baseball decided that their old white base isn't going anywhere anyway (much like most traditional hockey fans and the ot stuff) so why not try and adjust to the times?
