I was going to post something about him. I wasn’t even sure he was playing last night. He was absolutely invisible. We need him to control some play in the o zone protecting the puck and also driving to the net. - Hextall271
I said it last night, this is the guy the rangers didn’t want to resign, we didn’t see it last year, but the guy that disappears for long stretches. He’s been in a funk for how long now? |

The Flyers have some areas that they need to clean up and get better at. No doubt. However they have a very talented and deep team. The Flyers lost last night due to individual breakdowns, a poor coverage down low and poor PP execution. They also didn't get enough from some top players. Like I said previously, the key is how to they react to the loss and how do they respond on Thursday. Let's not make too much of one disappointing loss. Too bad we didn't get Ekholm yet. He would've prevented that loss. - MJL
Against Buffalo, the Flyers were 0-3 and 0-2 on the PP. Against Buffalo the Flyers had individual breakdowns and poor coverage down low resulting in many high quality scoring chances. The Flyers did not play any differently last night IMO than they did against Buffalo, only last night they played against a much better team.

AV pointed this out as well in his post game presser, that Hart kept the team in the game last night, he played a very good game. The stats don't show it because the Flyers are allowing such high quality scoring chances right now. - jd250
There were two goals I would say he would want back. |

Yeah. It’s worrisome. We need the guy from last year but he’s far from the only one underperforming right now. |

For sure, who was he playing with last year, I can’t recall? I want to say it was him TK and Laughton? |

See people poopting on Ghost, and rightfully so after last night, but what about Provorov?
That direct pass to Malkin was every bit as bad/stupid as Ghost's turnover at the blue line. And he let those two Pens get behind him on that goal, too... it wasn't just Ghost there.
So yeah... was a really unfortunate 2nd period by all. |

I’d have to check. I remember tk playing but If someone told me he was not in the lineup I would have said. Oh ok. Invisible |

Just my opinion, nothing more; if Ekholm joined this team, he would be the Flyers best defenseman. - jd250
If Ekholm is really your best dman, it's basically over. |

Provy has been subpar all year, idk what’s up with him. He was really good the second game in Buffalo but that’s about it. Thing is Ghost made his decision at the worst possible time, we had just scored, they are down guys, he changed the complexion of the game as others pointed out. |

Yes. Provys play was equally bad. Not sure if it was pressure that abuse him to lose his Mind on that play?

Well, it would mean that provy is out of the lineup. All players have bad games. Doesn’t mean they suck overall. The overall solution is that our best players need to play better. Haha. Simple. |

Let's just say he's not a guy who can carry a team or even a pairing for that matter. What has he done for Dante Fabbro? |

Team was routed by that point.
It's too bad because they played really well as a team early on. One goal against and they folded their tents.

Dante Fabbro sucks with a capital S. Also, who said anything about Ekholm having to carry a pairing? After all, everyone keeps posting how great Provorov, Sanheim and Myers already are. So why wouldn't adding a solid top 4 defenseman to this group not elevate this team to another level?

I'm not sure the Flyers folded their tents after that first Penguins goal. I thought the Flyers played hard, but they just can't overcome the myriad of dumb plays they continually make against a good team. |

People may disagree but I would keep jvr and farabee together as they were on a roll before coots came back. Move coots to get more from others. Can always put them back together as game needs.
Also why are they not a pp unit?

Ghost is not a top pair guy. He is exposed against fast teams with strong forechecks. He is having a good year but is playing up in the lineup. I wanted to see how he and Provy would do together. Now we know, let's move on. If we use Ghost as a 3rd pair guy and PP QB, we are in good shape. Problem is, who takes top pairing role? Outside help is needed. Doesn't appear to be a chance that Nisky is talked out of retirement.
Friedman had an assist last night. Goal coming soon.

Calling them a dumb team is an overreaction. Calling them a slow team is an overreaction. On and on and on. Like I said in my previous posts, you don't understand score effects. How the score and the time of the game affects things like shot attempts and scoring chances. Buffalo was never a threat in either game. The Flyers played with some of the best structure they had all season in both of those games.

I would like to hear your analysis on why ALL season regardless of how talented or not the other teams are as to why every defenceman regardless of who they are paired with consistently leave other teams players and many times multiple players alone between them and our goalies?
How many breakdowns of multiple odd man rushes against.
IMHO that comes down to talent issues with some, but more so lack of playing smart hockey.
I will agree this team way to often does not play smart consistently in every aspect and that’s the big reason why this team in itself is inconsistent. |

I believe he’s a better dman than elholm. I know you stated the provy isn’t a top pairing dman and I don’t agree with that. He’s at least a 2 |

I thought they had it with the great start. We couldn’t bury any in the first period and that killed us. |

because only the D man they're mad at make mistakes. Funny how posters think that only Flyers D go through games making mistakes. If that was true there would be no scoring chances across the league. This is not the trap league of yesterday, it is fast and skilled and D will be beat every night, ALL OF THEM |
