You want Eichel you better be prepared to give us what ever we want. He is that good. If the Rangers want him you better be prepared to give us your top picks from the past 2/3 years. Eichel is a great player. Top 25 in the league for sure. The problem is he is not a leader. He does not make others around him play better.
He would do well do join a team good team with a few good veteran players to take the reigns of leadership and allow Jorts Jack to focus on hockey.

IMO, I think we are putting way to much stock into leadership.... I could care less if Eichel has a C or A on his chest, the only thing that truly matters is digits in the goals,assist and win columns.

At the end of the day I dont think Eichel is the kind of leader that will lead a team to a cup at least not yet. In 6 years he hasnt even managed to make the playoffs. Even EDM has done it twice with a much weaker roster. They need a leader.

I could see the Flames offering Gaudreau for Eichjel. And even though Hall + Eichjel have been an awful combo, the Flames will still be able to entice Hall to sign as a UFA in Calgary, because Hall was born in Calgary and lived there until he was 12 years old. So he has fond memories.

Next year the Flames will have a top line of Hall-Eichjel-Nylander (FYI, Nylander was also born in Calgary so naturally he'll be coming home too). I'm not certain where Ghost fits into this. But I'm sure him and JVR are involved too. What do you think Hexy?

This way off base. Points arent all that matters. Getting 100 points a season is useless to a team if you are causing 100+ goals against with poor defense.

Most important thing is to make sure you are playing the right way. You need to put the effort in on every shift, play sound without the puck and transition to offense when you have a shot.

A leader needs to be the bridge between player and coach. You need to lead by example and push your teamates to be their best and help out the other players when they struggle. Leadership is a huge aspect to a team.

I feel the sabres are 2-3 years and a Draisatl behind Edmonton. Reinhart needs to step it up and play like he dominates, because Draisatl dominates. They also need a little luck with the ping pong balls (this years draft class looks /meh)
