Blues have 5 key pieces ready for Eichel. - Gerk
Why can't they just give them one key? Who the (frank) wants one key in five separate pieces? |

Buffalo prefers quantity over quality in these types of trades. Blues know their dance partner well. |

I don't think you understand the way that trade breaks down. The Bruins didn't trade a first for Kase, they had to add a first for the Ducks to take Backes contract. Just like the leafs had to add a first to get rid of Marleau. Take a look on what is left on those contracts and then look at Skinner. The Sabres aren't getting anything for Skinner. To get rid of Skinner, buffalo will need to give up assets and probably retain a good portion. - r8edr
Ok. You're stuck with Skinner and you suck forever. Jesus Christ.

I'm not a Sabres fan, but the reality is, they aren't getting anything for him. It will cost them to get rid of him. Giving up 1st rounders like the Bruins did, would be a disaster for the Sabres. There best bet is to give up on the season, and put their expendable players like Skinner in situation were they can pad their stats. Play him on the top line for 20 minutes a game, give him ever second you can on the PP, try to put him on for every miss match possible etc...Maybe if you can get him close to looking like a 20-30 goal scorer, some team may be fooled into taking him in the offseason with Buffalo just retaining some salary, and some lower end pieces that aren't a 1st rounders. But that is a big maybe in itself.

Eichel is a great player. Top 25 in the league for sure. The problem is he is not a leader. He does not make others around him play better.
He would do well do join a team good team with a few good veteran players to take the reigns of leadership and allow Jorts Jack to focus on hockey. |

Turdsie told me 5 premium pieces were 1 botcoin. So how may botcoins for 5 key pieces. Is that more or less than a Treasure trove? |

Ek, read this - HenryHockey
Exactly. A previous article noted Ekholm was in play. That was Ek's blog topic the next day. I made up a rumour about John Gibson and it also became a topic. I'm now hearing LA is circling back to the Doughty for Keith + Kane idea. They like Kane. If Kane ends up in LA then Barzal and Laine will be following. |

IF I were the Sabres I sure as hell wouldn’t be listening to offers on Eichjel yet either. He’s a Hybrid of Matthews/McDavid/Crosby.
Despite him playing on one of the worst teams in the NHL his value is through the room. I would however be listening to any offers on Eichel. I hear contract talks with Dougie in Carolina aren’t going well. Maybe call them and build a package?
Or call Pitt , get Malkin. Buffalo is no Nashville but Malkin can finally be the man. - DrunkFan
He isnt in the same league as the 3 you mentioned above...its not close to accurate.

Big problem is getting soaked in free agency again by basically signing guys they already have. I don't know how someone looks at Okposo then goes out and signs both Hall and Stall. Its frustrating watching other teams younger guys in the lineup.
All starts at the top, hired 3 coaches with no experience out of the 4, this GM may be over his head. Keep the guys on long term contracts, sign some grit and bring up some younger guys and get a real NHL coach. Then if Jack won't respond to a proven guy then trade him. This year was wasted, gonna need to do it all over again next year- what a joke. |
