Kapanen is suppose to be here to add offense. He picked a great game to step it up. - Grinder47
Yeah man we need him. |

He sure did. He doesn't seem to be a good match with Sid though. He looked second best with Geno and the best with Blueger IMO. |

I was talking about a hockey trade and not your opinion if we need said player. I just pointed out we have the assets to do a hockey trade. Period. You’re trying to be funny but failed.lol - Barnaby36
Ok sure, we can offer them Crosby and it’ll probably get done. Hockey trade! |

I remember some really sh!tty 4th lines back in the Bylsma days, but this 4th line tonight might be the worst in memory. I can't believe I really want Erod back. - madmike71
Yep and our third line without tanev on it is bad as well |

I believe I remember a goal against the Flyers, probably like ten years ago, Pens won the faceoff at center ice and it just went right through the five hole. - Rinosaur
It was Talbot haha! |

Ask yourself the meaning of a hockey trade. Win-Win situation. I only brought up a trade for a guy like Mantha because management was looking for more toughness (Mantha brings that + skill). He probably would take a lot to get so we’d have to give up something big too (like Guentzel or Rust +). It was a change of scenario only. A change of playing style.
Anyway, it’s a moot point and we had an awesome game tonight haha I’m happy with Friedman’s game! |

The key for meshing with Sid is time. It always bothered me that Kessel was given like 4 games before it was deemed a failure. I hate that Sully is already jerking Kap around. |

Kessel and Sid just make me laugh with them together though. Completely two different people lol. Sid is like super serious and Phil is like (frank) it all. |

What's crazy is that even in those 4 games, Kessel and Sid were buzzing. Just couldn't score. |

Is it time? Kunitz, Dupuis, Guentzel, Hornqvist, Sheary, and Hossa were all instant hits with Sid. Feel like the only guy that he has played with that didn’t work the first time and eventually worked later was Rust. Even Perron did pretty well with Sid throughout his tenure here which was considered largely a failure. |

The Coach Farce effect. It is a huge shame Sullivan never tried those two together after the team got on the right track. Sid-Phil was like the one bright spot of the Johnston era. And Cole looking like a really good top 4 option. |

Idk.... No camp for Kap. What did they play.....like 3 games together? Mostly against the NY sludge. Besides... What are the options? Nobody else is walking through that door.
Just wait til Erod is back. You'll be begging for Kap on the 1st line. |

Not at all saying Kap can’t work with time. Just saying that time hasn’t been key for Sid’s best wingers. |

Neal wasn't with Sid too much either. That was mostly Geno. Guerin was instant with Sid too. |

Not going to read too into a game they didn’t dominate, but the effort was commendable top to bottom. Bobble goal aside, jarry was solid as all hell and really kept them in it for the beginning.
Malkin looked engaged. Definitely helped having the top two wingers. Would be phenomenal if there was a way to leave them with him. Also, letang had another sneaky good game of just making simple and effective plays that result in the puck put on net and in dangerous areas. |

I'd keep Guentz-Geno-Rust together as well. They could run McCann-Sid-Kap for now. They would need to make a trade though. |
