It’s one of those teach the teacher moments. Meanwhile, 2 and a half hours waiting for doctor to call for 2:15 appointment.

....and I love it!

I always wanted to be that kid but my dumb/cool friends would've railed me for it. Yes, I was a wussy and did what the cool club did.

If I was a GM, I'd have a rule about no guy on the team over the age of 33 making more than $6M a year.

Those numbers can be adjusted after looking at graphs and spreadsheets and poop, but seriously, there should be a line which shouldn't be crossed.

How many contracts to superstars after the age of 27 have worked out well?

People laugh at Dubas for giving Matthews and Marner huge contracts, but at least he's paying for them during their most productive years.

Tavares was a mistake.

Karlsson was a mistake.

Parise was a mistake

- Atomic Wedgie

Good point but I would disagree slightly on the Tavares signing. He had his best season ever during the first year of the deal. Last year was just under a point a game and he has 19 points in 23 games this season. He has played through a brutal elbow smash by Weber this season and I would think he ends up around a point a game. Parise and Karlsson are no where near the numbers they produced prior to their big contracts.

My current PC is decent (I grabbed a mid-tier gaming desktop in August); it has a 2070S, so it's not great, but it's more than adequate for things.

That said, similar to you - if I won a lottery, I would build a gaming rig so powerful the lights would dim in Russia when I turned it on. It would make the hair stand up on the back of an astronaut's neck on the Moon.

I just want it to be able to print me a 1985 copy of Kelly LeBrock.

if you are planning on building a gamer on a budget - let me know - there are lots of opportunities to save much $$ over pre-configured "gaming systems" that are commonly available.

I just started playing Skyrim for the first time (Free on Xbox Game Pass). So far not bad.

How much storage space does it take up?

I've got the disc for my old Xbox, but if it's free right now, I might download it on my Xbox 1.

I get the feeling that it won't be Dermott who's traded but Liljegren. Reading between the lines it seems Dubas knows he has some decent defensive depth in Dermott, Lehtonen and Sandin. So Liljegren might be expendable at the trade deadline. Some GM's believe you need to be 10 deep on defense if you want to make a Cup run. Injuries can and will happen.

Liljegren has played very well in the AHL and I don't know what more he can do down there. Other teams likely have him on their radar when talking trade with Dubas. I'm thinking Dubas would be willing to trade Liljegren in the right deal but not Sandin.

- gergeswillems

You may be right that Liljegren has some value as a prospect but I'm not quite so sure Dubas would want to move him. Lehtonen and Bogo are both UFA and Dermott is arbitration eligible RFA.

Kind of thinking that Dubas will be hoping Liljegren will be able to make the jump next season with Sandin as the Leafs are going to be in a serious cap crunch with Hyman, Ander5en, and Rielly ('22 UFA) to consider.

Then again, lots of time (and variables I'm not seeing) to navigate those minefields, i guess!
