1. He's fine. What you'd want out of a 5-6.

2. He looks like 2017 Joe.

3. Anders3n mostly.

- AdamFrench

We should have kept Bogo and let Schenn walk.

I like Joe. I wanna see him pull a Gordie Howe and play until he's ancient.

Being in different divisions (Bolts and Leafs), I haven't been following the Leafs as closely as I usually do. So, I have a couple of questions for the Leafs fans :

1) How is Bogosian doing? Is he a pylon, or is he providing value?

2) How does Jumbo Joe look? I heard he broke a rib and missed some time, but seemed to be contributing before that. How much gas does he have left in the tank?

3) Goaltending. Which Andersen are you getting so far this year?

- GalacticStone

Bogosian has helped calm Travis Dermott down a little.. Dermott's playing a smarter, safer game.

Jumbo Joe is on our top line and averaging almost a point a game. Great value for $700k

Andersen has been our 3rd best goalie this season

- Bogo has been fine when he stays in his lane.
- Jumbo has been a great 700k add.
- Anderson,,,, not trying to get a huge new contract.

- bixll

Jumbo sounds like a great bargain for that money. Not unlike Maroon (if he was older) in Tampa. Although, I think I would swap Maroon for Jumbo Joe, no offense to Maroon.

Who the heck is in the pipeline behind Anders3n? Andersen has his faults, but he's still a solid starter.

When you never had speed to begin with, you can't lose it.

He knows how to play with players whipping around him.

So, you're saying Dubas is gonna re-sign Andersen and let Campbell and Hutchinson go?

Bogo is a solid guy and I liked what I saw during his brief tenure in Tampa. I would have prioritized keeping him over Schenn, especially when Shattenkirk walked.

Like I said above, I am a little bit of a Jumbo fanboy. I'm glad the guy is prospering in Toronto.

Did I hear Friedman's post game correctly?

True. And yeah, it helps that his hockey IQ is off the charts and he has great awareness and play-reading ability. He seems to put himself in the right spots, even with all the young gnats buzzing around him.

The really sticky tricky problem is that Andersen makes $5M now. Not only does Toronto not have the cap space to give him a raise, he doesn't really deserve it.

So what do you do?

It might get ugly. I'd be comfortable offering him 2 years X $4M, but I know he wouldn't accept that.

Same here, I've always been a fan of Thornton. Seems like he is leaving quite the impression on this Leafs team..
Bogo has been better than expected.. I admit, I thought maybe he'd be the 7th d-man with limited minutes, but he's been exactly what we need.. A tough, stay at home guy.
Some people don't like hearing this, but Freddy has struggled with consistency this season.

I guess it will come down to how much he wants to stay in TO. A good starter, even a streaky one, will command a premium on the open market. GM's are chomping at the bit to throw blank checks at goalies. If he decides to leave, some adventurous GM will throw 3x6m or 4x5m at him, no problem. That GM may regret it later.

I would love to, but it's not really a sport where you can just go to Canadian Tire, get some equipment and start.
