Chicago is 5-1 vs Detroit.
- gergeswillems

That's the bad news for Chicago. They have only 2 games left against Detroit. They have 17 remaining against Tampa, Florida and Carolina. I'm expecting at some point Dallas pulls their heads out of the backsides, so the 6 remaining against them should also be problematic.

Because I'm killing time before my 2 pm meeting, I thought I would take the Northern Division's current winning percentages, and extrapolate them over an 82 game season:

Team Points

Toronto 128
Winnipeg 105
Edmonton 96
Montreal 94
Calgary 78
Vancouver 66
Ottawa 58

Hawks aren't very good 5 on 5. But their PP is one of the best. Patty Kane is still elite. But they've dined out on a bad Detroit team. Lankinen has been solid in net. Dallas has alot of games to make up but I expect them to make the playoffs.

i feel like the whole Canadian div is a tad soft overall, compared to the leafs reg division.

but, I am totally (frank)ing fine with that, I am enjoying the poop out of winning 80% of the games so far.

if they can plow their way to the conf finals while taking out 2 other Canadian teams...well thats the poop, hook it to my veins

The peggers are the only ones that worry me a little bit tbh

Also playoff Carey Price and Weber's shenanigans when the refs put the whistles away

2009-2010 had the Caps at a +85 goal differential. The other teams combined for -127

Mikheyev is having the perfect year. Flying around, playing physical, making a difference, but not contributing enough offence to push himself outside TO’s price range for next year. He was the best player on the ice last night

I’d swap Nylander for a top-four d-man in a heartbeat. Pesce, Ekholm, whatever. Or as a component of a larger deal for a top pairing guy

Huh? Who said Seth Jones? Pretty sure I referenced Pesce and Ekholm. Nylander has deficiencies, but he also has a tonne of value. If Leafs offered him to CAR or NSH straight up for those two guys, at least one of them says yes
- AxlRose91

I would very much hope the Leafs say (frank) no to those trades.

Ya you know matthews will be getting 2 handed in back every time the whistles are away.

I think the Jets will be the tougher opponent.. If Hellebuyck can play well.. The Jets are a strong team.. Also, we will be starting our 3rd string goalie Freddy Andersen in the playoffs.

It actually is pretty bad. The numbers are inflated for some teams because, well, they play the other teams in this poopty division.

Vancouver and Ottawa basically.

People were looking at The Habs (january juggalos), The Peggeroons, The Flamers, and to a lesser degree the nucks and the oilers as pretty good teams this year. Didn't quite work out that way I guess.

Edmonton has McDavid and Draisatl.

Montreal has Price, who is playing poop right now, but it's still possible he steals a series.

I'm not scared, but I'm not counting any chickens yet, either.

I really think Edmonton doesn't do anything special if they can't figure out their goaltending situation.

Actually the thing that scares me the most is Dubois-Scheifele-Wheeler in the peg backstopped by Hellabuick. Could be a deadly combo even if their d-men are poop.
