I remember that moment very vividly...but I don't think anyone would fault you for not remembering a guy who played a whopping 2 NHL games ever

He was at the alumni party/game last year I walked right past him lol

How are the Isles signing Beau Sororkin and Pelech next year with literally pennies left on the cap?😂😂 Lou might have to let Seattle take Bailey or Eberle next year and still have to get rid of another decent size contract
- Vukota

I don't think Sorokin or Beau are going to be due massive raises, but yeah they're still going to get real tight.

Wahlstrom's development really has a lot more hinging on it than I think a lot of people realize (not implying those people are necessarily posters in here, just in general). If Wahlstrom is really a scorer, you can probably leave Bailey or Eberle unprotected and hope Seattle takes one.

I mean they can buy out the last year of Komarov's deal and send Ross to BPT and they'd save about $2.3M-ish for next season, I think. I guess you could buy Clutterbuck out too and get that number up to just short of $4M. Not sure they'd be interested in doing the latter, but....not sure how many options they really have.

I really can't see any scenario in which we re-sign Cizikas either.

Best scenario (for the cap) would really just be Seattle selecting Bailey or Eberle (ideally Bailey, but I'd assume Eberle would be more attractive to them)

I’d rather keep Ebs over Bailey. Maybe give Seattle a 3rd in 2022 to take Bailey? I can’t see a scenario where CC comes back either. Off-season is going to be very interesting for sure

I love Cizikas but at this point he's missed so much time over the last few years that it really seems like it's the smart thing to do, not just an unfortunate cap casualty.

He's already making probably about what Beau/Sorokin should get on their next deal and it's hard to justify paying him the same or more money than them. Great Islander and it'd suck to lose him but I think it's time that 4th line gets a little cheaper and the money gets allocated to pay for some scoring and/or defensive depth.

Don't forget Greene is going to hit those bonuses and thus adding at least another 1 mil to the cap next year and he won't even be on the team anymore

Maybe? I genuinely have no idea if that's enough to have Seattle take Bailey. Every team in the NHL is going to be hoping that Seattle selects their valuable-but-expendable player who has a bigger contract and they can't do it for everyone.

True and who do you think replaces CC next year? Koivula? CC kills penalties as well. It's going to be a bigger loss then some think, even with his injury history

Yeah the Martin and Greene signings were pretty bad. Necessary (well in Greene's case) but still bad.

Really hope Lou finds a way to get Ladd onto LTIR

Maybe him or Czarnik?

I suspect Lou will take a pretty hard run at trying to re-sign Casey. I guess it'll hinge on whether Cizikas wants to cash in on his one "big" UFA chance or if he's happy on LI and would take some sort of discount to stay. Not an easy decision on what the right thing to do is.

Only way they bring him back even for a huge discount is to move 1 or 2 good sized contracts. They have hardly any money coming off the books. Might have to give the job to Sororkin regardless if he is ready for a full time gig just to get rid of Varly's contract

Maybe Lou gives him a job in the organization and in return he retires at the end of this year and they somehow cook the books and pay him his playing salary through his coaching salary

This team needs to focus on each game in front of them. They cannot afford to worry about anyone else but themselves.

Dobson is getting better...Walhstrom making good strides... Dal Cole playing smarter...Sorokin starting to settle in. Lines are starting to gel.

If this team can stay healthy they should be in good shape. Isles schedule is setting up for some distance to be put in place between top and bottom of division. They need and should grad these points PROVIDED they play their game.

Guys stop worrying about the money. Enjoy what this team is doing now. Worry about they other at the end. Deals will be made and players will come and go. It is part of the business.

Right now we should enjoy the team we have and the direction they are going in.

Wasn't aware I had to choose between enjoying the hockey or discussing the future of the organization and that I'm not able to do both.
