What if it’s something like Svejkovsky Bjorkqvist and a 3rd for Glendening and Ryan?
- Feds91Stammer

I'd do that. Then also make a hockey trade with Pettersson.

I see a lot of hate for winning one goal games(usually in OT), and I understand why, but in my mind theres also positives to that characteristic as well.
- MattStrat

I don't see any positives in to winning 3v3 hockey and shootout games when in the playoffs you have to win at 5v5.

While Zucker and Kapanen (and McCann) should be expendable based on the fact that they’re not that good, we need to add to our forwards in order to get back to competitiveness. If we’re swapping them out, the move is too lateral to make a difference even if we’re bringing in the better player, unless it’s something super stupid like trading Kapanen for Forsberg. But as things stand, keeping Zucker and bringing in a another middle six winger is more helpful to the team than trading Zucker for a clear cut top 6 winger. A bit different for Kap and McCann who are considerably worse players than Zucker, but generally the same concept applies.

I think the Pens have a better shot at using a dman to get a top-six winger and using Zucker and/or Kap to upgrade the bottom six.

i.e. as I brought up yesterday, something around a Petts/Kap to ANA for Henrique/Rackell.

Pens may be able to to use less to grab someone like Tatar or Gusev and only pull the trigger if they can agree to an extension.

Zucker and Kap are THE upgrades to the bottom six. No point in moving them out if you already have 2 guys who are fits for the third line.

Tatar helps the top 6. Gusev does not. Both are also LWs so not sure if that is a bigger need than RW?

I'd like Tatar but he's not up on my list because I'd like a righty to handle the top PP

I’m sure the nhl will postpone your games. They’ve done it for every team except Detroit.

Kessel wasn't here last season and the power play still produced.

If we remember back to last year Sullivan tried numerous times to take Hornqvist off the top unit. It never worked but players kept getting injured so with no choice Sulli kept having to go back to Hornqvist.

Marino doesn’t fit star player criteria. Detroit lost like 4-5 players week 2 of the season and the nhl was like “(frank) em”

Same. I know everyone wants a scoring 3rd center, but we spend a lot of time talking about guys who nobody even wants to claim on waivers because of their contracts. Meanwhile Blueger is playing better.

We really don't need one. And I'd rather not go the rental route with anyone we bring in. Gotta have at least next season in mind as well.

I'm perfectly fine with Blueger playing 3C. Upgrading the wings and 4C (Glendening actually seems like a good chooice and a Sully player) seems like a pretty good move IMO.

If you bet on Blueger’s scoring bump and a lot him up with wingers like McCann/Kapanen/Zucker/whoever gets bumped down to try to create a legit third line I’m a lot more in favor of Glendening as a Blueger replacement to maintain the effectiveness of that checking line.
