it's why they are doing all that taxi squad jockeying, trying to accumulate cap space so they can eventually have Barron and/or Kravstov here - jimbro83
Yep, have to jockey all year |

Eichel for Zib and two firsts (2022 and 2023, lottery protected). Would you do it?
I think I would.
Would Buffalo? |

I would drive Zib to the airport, give him money to buy a few beers at the bar and carry all his bags for him. |

I don't think he is eligible to come off the list until Saturday since he tested positive. |

Do we get any cap savings by stating the Panarin is on a "leave of absence?" We are also saving from having Trouba out. He has a daily cap hit of just under $69,000. Do we save that much every day that we can use to bring up the kids? Or a portion of it?
I never understand how this works out. |

No, from my understanding since it is not health related Panarin counts towards the cap.
I think Trouba has to be on LTIR to have cap savings? Could be completely wrong. |

True true
Thinking in hypotheticals, maybe if there was something happening behind the scenes in NYC or he wasn't seeing eye-to-eye with the team on his next contract |

That is kind of concerning. What if him and the Rangers can't agree to a new deal. With his no move clause he may not agree to get traded anywhere. Would suck to lose him for nothing to free agency |

I still think Zib works it out somewhat and they end up retaining him for a lower amount than we were expecting. |

And apparently has expressed some interest about returning next season...for some reason.
I get the feeling he's one of the guys in the league that couldn't care less about winning a Cup and just wants to make the most money he can. Which is fine...but I think he's a top-5 most overrated player in the league. |

Yeah, definitely not the $10M player anymore, but maybe he comes in at $8.5-9M
Edit: And that's only if he returns to his normal 75pt season self next year. If he doesn't, then $7.5-8M is more likely and idk that I'd be happy paying that to a player who can't figure it out anymore... |

For sure, but with a broken thumb, he has to have been on the LTIR from pretty much day 1 out of the line up, no? |

I mean, I'm sure that he expected to ride shotgun with Eichel and amass some pretty impressive point totals getting mega-minutes on a bad team. I expected it too, honestly. I figured Buffalo just wanted to pump and dump him at the deadline and revisit re-signing in the offseason. |
