Don’t know what kind of draft pick you get for a guy who has one goal in 30 NHL games and is a 6’4”, 227 pound physical specimen that does not play to his size....kinda like a Kreider light. Colin Blackwell, at 5’9” and 190 is more physical than he is. Think there might be a reason Quinn shows him the pines so much?

My point is he isn’t getting enough ice time to make any sort of impact. 30 games on the 4th line means nothing. Could maybe once he put him on the PP2 as a net front presence? No D necessary in that spot.

Tonight he’s playing with Chytil, hopefully for more then a period. That should help as long as they play the whole damn game together

The funny thing is I really like Gauth and would love for him to get more minutes, but its his own doing right now.

Gauthier needs to play more like PDG. If he did, he would be the perfect third liner. Good forechecking, speed, size, physical, fine defensively. And he'd have that scoring touch that PDG lacks.

Gauthier may be that case were he is caught inbetween being talented, but not a complete enough player to break into a consistent top 6 role, beating out other top 6 players, therefore, is always miscast on teams and then ultimately fails. Not sure if it's opportunity, coaching or he himself.

Yea I question Quinn a lot but he has handled Gauthier fine. He has struggled really badly at times. Potential is there but he needs to learn to play a full game

I don't even know why Lou qualified him. At this point I almost feel bad for the kid. I'd rather just cut him loose and let him go try his luck elsewhere.

Truth be told, I wouldn't want to ship him across town to you guys. If he turns out to actually be a valuable player it would really suck to have to see him do it with the Rangers
