Gauthier hasn’t gotten a fair chance to blossom yet imo. He reminds me alot of Alex tuch and he’s turned out to be pretty good
Problem with him being on the Rangers is the top 9 is loaded on the wings
They probably should trade him to LA with one of these d prospects we have for one of the center prospects they have - Slimtj100
Exactly. Not a knock on the player. Just may be not the right fit for the team. Blackwell fits perfectly in the lower 6. Gauthier will be pushed out of his natural role on the Rangers. |

It wouldn't really bother me to lose any of the guys listed. Sure I like some of them but I think the team is set up fine for that Seattle draft |

The game the other night brodzinski had 8 minutes or so and Gauthier had 5. It was after two periods. I wanted to vomit, and break my brothers tv |

Quinn is going to play guys he trusts. So as long as he is coach Howden is going to play and so are the Brodzinskis. Blackwell is one of those but he has turned out better. |

I really don't understand why people get so bent about Gauth. Yeah he has great size and speed. He plays hard for a shift then makes 3-4 glaring mistakes. I like the kid, but lets not act like this is a case of Quinn not liking him. Gauthier needs to learn a complete game and not make a ton of mistakes.
Kakko has a ton more upside and this season he is one of our best and hardest working players nightly. Last year not so much. People could trash Quinn all they want, but when it comes to working with young players, I will go with what he thinks over the keyboard coaches. |

Howden plays because there is no one else, especially after Chytil went down. He doesn't have a choice at center |

100%. If JG wants more ice time, it's on him and not Quinn. Look at Blackwell. If you play well, you get more time. |

The thing is Quinn preaches driving to the net, that’s what he does.
My point on brodzinski, who is worse of a player, is how on earth does he get more ice time. I’m not asking him to play over Buch or Kakko etc, but I sure as hell expect him to play more then Johnny boy lol
He’s gonna be a guy we regret letting go |

I think the bottom line is.....the Rangers do not need him. His style is top 6 player. He is not a grinder player. He is miscast on the Rangers. Who in the heck would anyone sacrifice in the Rangers top 6 for him. Me: None. |

Brodzinski is getting 2 more minutes of ice time per game more than Gauthier. It’s asinine |

But we only see some of what goes on in a game. Brodz could be 50 times better than Gauth on the D side of the puck and doesn't make nearly as many mistakes. Like I said, I like Gauth, I do hope he stays with the team but driving to the net doesn't out weigh all the other mistakes he makes.
Like Bean said. Look at Blackwell, Rooney ect. They are getting ice time because they are doing everything the coach wants. |

I think Gauth could be an excellent 3rd liner. He has to learn how to play in his own zone though. |

IMO Howden will be in somehow, some way. He does everything but generate a scoring chance. That is Quinn’s guy. Like I said everything else but put the puck on net. He is trusted in all situations by the coaching staff. Again my opinion. |

Josh ho sang is the UN of players. They both think they are so important, but just (frank) poop up and make it worse

I think my point is that Brokzinski, while not as talented of a player as Gauthier, is a grinder and a checker and will be nothing more than that. Barely NHL caliber at that. That is probably why he is used more. I agree Gauthier isn't getting a fair chance, but I do believe it is because he is miscast on the Rangers. |

Full disclosure, I'd rather keep Blackwell than Gauthier. - NYRCeph
I'd rather keep both of them and expose Lemieux.
I don't think he's useless anymore, but I'd still rather search for his skillset, than what we seem to have right now in Scorewell and Gautier. |

I just hope Seattle doesn’t take Gauthier. I’d rather trade him for a pick or something then lose him for nothing. He’s the one guy I’d hate to lose for nothing
Hopefully they love Howden or Hajek - Slimtj100
Don’t know what kind of draft pick you get for a guy who has one goal in 30 NHL games and is a 6’4”, 227 pound physical specimen that does not play to his size....kinda like a Kreider light. Colin Blackwell, at 5’9” and 190 is more physical than he is. Think there might be a reason Quinn shows him the pines so much?

So you think Quinn just doesn't like Gauthier?
How do you explain Miller, Blackwell, Rooney, Laf.............. I think you aren't realizing how many mistakes Gauth makes and how bad he is in his own zone |

Gauthier needs to play more like PDG. If he did, he would be the perfect third liner. Good forechecking, speed, size, physical, fine defensively. And he'd have that scoring touch that PDG lacks. |

Yup, there's a reason PDG, Rooney, Blackwell see minutes. Rarely make mistakes, good in their own end and play hard. It isn't a conspiracy Gauth needs a better all around game |
