Before this season, most of you nitwits never had even heard of Kevin Lankinen - while I was suggesting to add him to the Leafs.

Kevin Lankinen 2020-21 CHI L 15 15 9 3 -- 3 516 477 39 .924 2.55

if you're talking goalies, better ask me for my views

next year, Leafs should go with three goalies:

a 1A (Korpisalo would be a good fit) - 50 games
a 1B (Campbell) -32 games start
a goalie that is backup every single game (Woll)

truly rest the starting goalie that is not playing that evening.

if one of the starting goalies is not playing up to level, give Woll some starts.
rather have Woll with the big guys than in the AHL - he's got nothing more to learn there, and can only lose confidence by playing behind a mediocre defense.

Campbell looks like he's better than I thought and could develop into a 'Craig Anderson 2.0' --- a goalie great in a season with under 40 starts, but not as good when having to play 50-60 starts. (or at least a McSavey 2.0)

I'm still not sold on Campbell as a legit NHL backup (only played 67 NHL games at the age of 29y so far) -- but he's been much better in his 2 years with the Leafs so far than I thought he would be, and maybe he's actually got the self-confidence which was lacking in earlier stages of his career.
the support of teammates after that win was great to see -- seems he's definitely on this team next season unless he completely breaks down..

Oh im sorry, did you say a 22 year old goalie with 32 games of ahl experience that has a 3.75 gaa and .880 sv% has nothing more to learn from being in the ahl?

Are you kidding me?

Kevin Lankinen is off to a good start. He has played 15 NHL games. 4 of those are against Detroit and 1 is against Nashville.

In fact, if you look at his games, he has played 10 games against non-playoff bound teams, and in those 10 games has posted a save percentage of .935 with a GAA of 2.17.

In the 5 games against playoff bound teams he has posted a save percentage of .904 with a GAA of 3.31 (and one of those includes a 1 goal / 34 save performance against a slumping Dallas team who have won 1 out of 9 games).

He hasn't even faced Tampa Bay yet.

Let's wait until decent teams see him a few times before anointing yourself lord of goaltenders.

I’m not sure I’d be thrilled to see him go.
Unless it means a Reimer Soup Combo

I'd be happy with this, arguably happier than Freddy re-signing.

Purely to watch the melt down in here.

Could this be another Andrew "hamburgler" Hammond from the Sens run a few years back.

Oh 3 games vs. TB this week.

Everybody seems to be getting along as usual, good to see.

10pm start, all the old timers will wake up on the couch and the game will be over after watching 3 shifts 🀣

We'll see. I think Lankinen has better fundamentals; he makes good saves. But teams don't have a book on him yet. Chicago has also not played a lot against the best teams, and when they did face Dallas, they were mired in a slump. If you exclude the Dallas (which is unfair on the surface, but trying to look at good teams playing well), it basically says: Lankinen, in 4 games against Carolina and Florida, has a save percentage of .887 and a GAA of 3.90.

He might be great. He might adapt to the changes teams make to him and he might grow with those changes. The odds aren't with him. It's not common that an undrafted goalie waltzes into the NHL at 25 and is suddenly a top-10 goalie in the league. It's a small sample size, but I wouldn't necessarily be betting on it.

He’s played well, hopefully still looks the same after a little bigger sample. 😳

Remember when Jake Allen was done, goalies get tossed in the garbage in here....a lot....and Fleury.
