I didn't say it was. Goalies take number hits when teams in front of them are bad, it happens. John Gibsons numbers the last two years are wretched compared to his career averages. Doesnt mean he is poope 🤷🏻‍♂️

Freddy isnt going anywhere, and they certainly aren't running with a Campbell/Hutch duo


If for whatever reason they decide to move on from Fred (they wont) then sure, look into a Korpi/Drieger for a 1A/1B tandem with Soupy.. But that would be a less than ideal scenario.

I do go with GSAA as a decent indicator. It is also influenced by the team play in front of the goalie, but it's probably a better indicator than straight save percentage. It can be influenced by the quality of high danger chances or even the quality of medium or low danger chances that are allowed. Giving an NHL player time and space in a medium or low danger area can still become a pretty high danger opportunity (as we witnessed last year with our porous defense), and it does badly affect a goalie's statistics. Freddie's GSAA and Save Percentages suffered last year - but we also did see that he wasn't quite the same goalie.

Korpisalo so far this year is the 5th worst in GSAA (granted Hart is 6th worst, and I do like him . . . .so ???).

That said, I agree that solutions to our cap options are very likely going to involve finding the right guy to be the #2 in tandem with Campbell.

I'm not sold on Korpisalo, but I do like his cap hit.
