Connolly is an excellent shooter / finisher but pretty mediocre at driving play. I think he really needs very good linemates (even more so than a typical NHLer) to shine.

I don't know if there's a fit on Detroit. They'd really have to play him with Larkin pretty consistently in order to get much out of him IMO.

Connelly probably has more offence than any of our bottom 6.....Fabbri and Ryan are competent top 6 (for now) Connelly would have decent line mates......it might work. If it does work then his salary is no problem. He would be a better gamble than a couple Stevie did last year....but he makes 3 times more than any one of them.
