Lol. I honestly didn't even get mad at the game. It was so pathetic that I was just like accepting it lol

What's sad is it seemed like the Pens' accepted it was pathetic and just gave up.

That game reminded me of the last few playoff series losses. Over matched, out coached and our skill players grinding it out every shift. Crosby deserves better.

Wow it was one game, we just beat them 4-2 this month in the 6 games. Lmfao

If you don't think this game was a harbinger for things to come I don't know what to tell you.

Pens are 2 points out of the playoffs right now behind a team with 2 games in hand. Pens have a -5 goal differential. According to some, Malkin is toast for the rest of the year. Sully is a (frank)ing idiot. We had 2 shots in the first period. This team is moribund.

We are arguing about what the Pens will do in the playoffs, but I doubt they even make it. Who are the Pens going to pass to get into the playoffs? I'll give you 2-to-1 odds the Pens don't win a playoff series. I'll probably give you 3-to-1 after these next 3 games against Philly.

I have to agree. It is just one game, it was a really bad showing, but it was just one game lol. This team is weird to me because they have how many come from behind wins?

They look so lifeless at times but I will say in the last 5 games we are seeing better performances from Geno and Letang. Geno has 5 points in 7 games and had a good game tonight. Letang has 7 points in his last 5. If they can get Dumo back to get some stability in the blue line, I honestly think McCann being pushed to Geno's wing might be the best thing for him. It gives him someone who is going to shoot the puck.

Agree completely. Crosby was the only one really fighting and clawing. Maybe Tanev, too, who pretty much always is. I hope management at least asks Crosby what he wants to do going forward. We could get a haul from Colorado, probably 2 1sts at least.

This game though, it's just hard to watch a loss like that. I think the last few years we've seen this team go into this ghost mode, so anytime it happens it just brings back that fear they will just shut down again.

I will take the positives: like you said, Geno and Letang are continuing to get better. Matheson is continuing to sell me on him.

I’d try to trade Pettersson and McCann + (or Zucker) for Forsberg or Duchene (not sure about his contract though lol).
- Barnaby36

I think Duchene would do good with a change of scenery. I was thinking Pettersson,McCann, and Zucker are all expendable.

I was thinking more of Zucker for Rakell.

I still believe McCann and a 5th for Bennett may eventually happen as well. Either trade would bring a different look to the team.

It definitely would bring a different look. This team would suck ass more if they tried to acquire a bum like Bennett.

How is Duchene's defense? Wasn't that always the knock on him? $8M per for the next 5 years after this one for a guy who just turned 30. Maybe that's just fine. He's still playing center, correct?

I guess we would need to know the objective first. Are we going for it? Are we re-tooling? Nashville is probably going the rebuild route soon, so what they would want from us would be dictated by that.

I don't know why so many are quick to get rid of McCann. His value and versatility are pretty near the top of the list for me. Also just 24 and will be restricted when his contract is up after next season. Not sure how much value he has in the eyes of the league, either.

We definitely need to trade at least one maybe two LDs so I would start there. If we're going for it, I would trade a LD for a forward.

They need to make another line because we have to basically roll 3 lines. It's killing them.

The first thing we should do is get Dumo back in the lineup then move a LD for a forward, then go from there. It just sucks complete ass that we can't even bring Poulin and Legare here. I'd rather them play our 4th line and go through growing pains than watch the trash we deploy as a 4th line...

This month is going to be very telling for me. Not one game against the Islanders. Because again 4-2 against them this month which is a series win in 6 games.

What's Dumo going to do? Continue to suck and provide zero offense?

We are 4-2 against both Washington and New York, the two main teams we are competing for a playoff spot. They still have to play each other six times. Things aren't as bad as they seem.

I think you guys are over reacting like always. The Islanders would have best any team in the league last night. They were relentless and suffocating.

Duchene does still play center.

Bennett is also 24 years old. I feel pittsburgh would do a young player swap with McCann and I look for someone who may need a change of scenery as well.

Well, I think McCann is a WAY better player with a higher ceiling than Bennett. That trade just doesn't make any sense other than for grit purposes, and while I think we need more grit, I don't think it should be at the expense of what I deem a far superior player.

Put him with Letang and see what happens. Then go from there. Have that LD trade in mind.

When they are going they might not be the “best” but maybe the hardest to beat.

Gotta say it’s hysterical the “watch the game” crowd doesn’t actually see the game when they watch it. They just see the game Bob Errey is making up in his head.

They play a well structured game for sure. And have just enough talent with it. If Tavares stays there they probably could have really contented some of those years.

That would be more comforting if 2 of those wins weren't in an OT/shootout format that doesn't exist in the playoffs. The Pens are that team this year that wins a lot in OT making their record look better than they actually are.

Dude I laugh at Errey all the time haha. I always just think to myself though, that his crazy nonsense and laughter is cool for kids that are watching. It's like Dad jokes left and right.
