Hawks lost this one early in the 1st when they could/should have scored a couple goals.

Then the first decent chance for DET and of course they score to go up 1-0, then they retake the lead directly after we finally score to tie it. And now they score a 3rd against our struggling PK.

Or Suter. No need for Mitchell to chase below the goal line while Keith was already there, and the Suter followed him and left his man alone in the slot.

I'd also expect some improvements though, even if its very gradual. Lots of talent out there, its very young and inexperienced...but with each game you'd like to think we're slowly getting better.

The problem with a young team is consistency. I know what you mean but LA is right it'll happen frequently because young players don't have the mental discipline to just do their job

But the offense needs to be able to generate more goals - not just zone time to no apparent purpose. Several times tonite they’ve talked about Detroit being “offensively challenged”: look to your own house, Messrs. Foley and Olczyk.

Our heroes are a 5x5 disaster: 31 goals in 21 games, about 1 1/2 per game. I didn’t do all of the math, but that’s very close to the bottom of the league. Now that the PP has kind of leveled off, there just isn’t enough offense to win most games. Add in a PK that has sunk dramatically....

Tied for 23rd, with Boston, in the NHL with 31 5v5 goals. Buffalo is last with 21.
