How about bringing in Kirk as an assistant in waiting...?
Also, Jim Benning should be on the hot seat. Lottery pick would be good. Get rid of Virtanen like he should have this past off season. Loss of Toffoli was entirely unnecessary. Hopefully hogs has a better second year.
Are people really wanting to trade JTM this year? - NewYorkNuck
I was totally against that trade and still think it was stupid, but now that he’s here trading him away would be stupid, unless you were getting Seth Jones or something in return...

I think it'd be a pretty dumb move at this point, especially after gutting the leadership (leadership of players that were actually good, that is) in the offseason. Not sure what kind of message it would send the players...
However, I do think someone will need to be traded in the next couple years with new contracts coming up, and JTM being the oldest guy of them I can see him being the guy sent out. If they were to trade him to Colorado for Bowen Byram, I would be happy with that.
I do, Petey, Boeser and Hughes are still young, get some younger guys for Miller and retool the lineup properly.
J.T. Miller to Carolina for Ryan Suzuki & Cade Webber. - Pacificgem
I think it would have to be a pretty substantial player/couple of players coming back in the trade.
Not sure who those guys on Carolina are. I would try Colorado – lots of young guys and they're trying to win now. JTM is cost controlled for a couple years and they'll lose guys one way or another with contracts and cap. Byram.

Ryan Suzuki is a six foot smooth/quick skating left shot center or winger, the younger brother of Nick Suzuki in Montreal. He's not physical but he's talented.
Cade Webber is a young 6'7" stay at home defenceman, something this team sorely needs.
Best defenceman to ever lace em up for the Nuckleheads but his time is coming to an end

Lots of respect for him . If he does come back for one more year that is okay. Canucks do have a lot of cap room this offseason , I hope they use it wisely. Then again next year could be another Covid year and then you need to see how it plays out.
