I haven't seen anyone say that Miller is useless. Nice use of hyperbole, however. - Marwood
I like how you used a different word in your post about him using a specific word |

Good sports take from Twitter
Canucks: dumpster fire
Whitecaps: cheap & morally reprehensible
Lions: haven't played in over a year
Mariners: team president just napalmed the entire organization (& Jays 4,000km away)
Seahawks: dinosaur coach pissed off their franchise QB

I have to admit it is a bit of a strange thing to say that they are a young talented group and have a lot of time to add but fire the guy who brought you this young core. - VANTEL
You've gotta be kidding me? You know for a fact 95% of Stanley Cup General Managers end up inheriting core players from previous regimes. Sometimes you just don't like to agree for the sake of not agreeing
Lombardi inherited Kopitar, Brown and Quick from the previous GM. Rutherford inherited Crosby, Malkin, Fleury & Letang. Stan Bowman inherited Towes, Kane & Hjalmarsson from Dale Tallon who inherited Keith, Seabrook, Bolland, Bickell and Byfuglien from Pulford.
That's how it goes, one rarely gets to see front to back in terms of NHL GM's. |

The funny thing is, it is the stupid people like yourself that think people are actually saying he is worthless. Lol - Reubenkincade
What are you trying to say you little weasel? You whine about a 100 different things everyday and it’s hard to tell when you are sarcastic and when you are really sad. We can’t help you if you don’t communicate effectively. |

I guess I take more issue with the specific notion of trading Miller. He's not old, he's about to be 28. You can't ice an entire team of players under 25, and as far as vets go on the team Miller is one of the only ones who is actually a quality player. - NorthNuck
I totally get both sides of this discussion. My concern is if he doesn't want to be here/has asked to be traded, then you have to move him sooner rather than later, before it gets out that he wants to be gone.
Also, he may be only 28, but this team is not a contender and by the time it is, he will be 30+ and on a different contract/team than he is on now.
As far as I am concerned, if they keep him, fine, if they trade him, fine. |

My take is that at some point you have to look at the group you've assembled and realize, if you're rational, that it isn't working. I'm not saying blow it up but rather trade a veteran player with value for quality and depth.
A team like Carolina, who I used as a trade example, is probably feeling like they can contend this year so take advantage of that and nab a couple quality drafted developing kids with highend potential.
Markstrom and Demko's playoff performance is masking the fact that although the team made strides last year, they were still outside a bubble position when the league stopped for Covid and were only let back in due to the playoff thingy. Now we lost our star goaltender and a solid defensive dman and we're once again a bottom ten team.
It's not working. Regroup with a GM that can build on what's here, as the currrent GM has proven that he struggles with things outside of drafting. |

Just because some of the stuff I see on here I think is stupid doesn't mean I am disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing.
In the last two years Benning has signed one UFA longer than two years. For the next two years he will be top 10 in cap space . He has drafted an excellent core, and go check his trades in the last three years.
Like it has been said over and over on here IDGAF what other teams have done. I can't help the fans that are butthurt about the Roussel and Beagle signings of three years ago.

the funny thing is that the re-build was "80% finished" five years ago.
it's the last 20% that's taking a decade. |

The facts are Benning's assembled some great young core players, that's what happens when you finish 2-3-5 last in the league, you get access to great young players. However, when you look at his work outside of drafting it hasn't been that impressive, get a new face in their and hopefully they have a better GM skill-set than JB. |

I was just over in CapFriendly looking at trade proposals . If you ever want a laugh go there. Flame fans are in panic mode and suggesting trade Kolkeniemi for Gudreau. Cody Glass and Fluery for Tkachuk and Rittich. Chychrun for Monahan and Kylington

I actually don’t even know if Green cares if they win anymore.
Miller is a winner: he was smart enough to stop caring before the rest of the idiot players |

You or anyone are entitled to your opinions. I agree he mad some desperate moves when he was handed over the pile of sh1t we called the Canucks.
Middle years signed some UFA that were suppose to be transition players for new players to ease into then NHL. Who knew he would draft three Calder candidates to speed the process.
His last two years he has done pretty well everything everyone here asked for. I am not trying to change anyone's mind, I just have my opinion also.

A lot of teams screw up here. We got 2 star players in a row with EP and Hughes, and OJ is turning into a solid top 4 guys at 5. but there are as many failures in the top 10 as success. finishing 2-3-5 last in the league does not guarantee 3 core players that will be as good as we have gotten. |
