Didn't some posters here want to try to sign Skinner? 9M cap hit with a point in 14 games.

My own opinion is just ride this season out unless there is a deal that is too good to pass up. Then come summer time you go have to 100% imo take that next step to become a legit contender. The thing is will upper management want to wait; yet again?

If someone wants to overpay for the Flyers free agents I would move them as well. Team always want depth on D; braun and hagg I look to move as well.

I think this is what we'll do. There's too much uncertainty with the expansion etc and we have not proven to be a contender. Aggressively try to fill that D hole this offseason. That to me is priority 1.

The Boston games concern me as well but keep in mind that they didn't have their best player for 4 of them and when they got him back for game 5, they were without most of their forwards from the top half of the lineup. That is a tough pill for any team. That said, 2 of the games were blowouts and the other 3 featured blown 3rd period leads - hardly encouraging outcomes in measuring stick games. They are clearly not playing their best hockey and have lots of work to do before I have any confidence in their worthiness as a playoff opponent. There is time to correct these issues but not time to be complacent. They are lucky to be where they are in the standings having not played well yet. Time to get to work, start playing to their capabilities, and start banking points. Will it happen? We'll see...

The GM seemed to praise Freidman numerous times. Yet he is now being waived. Is there a disconnect between the coach and GM when it comes to Freidman?

I do not think they gave Friedman a long enough look. Could have been a solid bottom pair cheap option. How you cant get a longer look while Hagg continues to suck is beyond me. Only positive is Hagg get the least minutes of the 6. So maybe the coach is somewhat wising up. When Braun comes back Hagg to the bench is the smart move.

So...would you have rather he said Friedman sucks? Why does there need to be a disconnect?

What a crazy fall off. You know who had a crazier falling off who is insanely over paid (at this point)? Erik Karlsson. Crazy he was maybe a top 5, def top 10, player in this league at one point. I don’t catch many Sharks games but man I honestly forgot about the guy kinda haha.

There isn't a disconnect as you know. There is simply no reason for the Flyers to continue to carry 8 defenseman. The Flyers cap situation is fluid.

Yeah. I forget we were without coots for many of the games, but Boston was without pasta the first two as well. I'd like to see full lineups for at least a couple of the games left vs them. Coots should blanket pasta the whole game.. dear god he's going to end up with like 15 goals vs us this year.

He needs a spark, what he’s been doing has not been working. Get him with some better guys and focus on the offense a little more. Also I’m glad to see Bunnaman get rewarded for his hard work.
- ClaudeFather
Man if Bunnaman get his hands to catch up to his feet

Fletcher does not come across to me as a GM that makes hasty trades out of panic.
- jd250

He was pretty methodical early on in Minnesota, but once pressure started ramping up, he stumbled into a lot of regrettable moves, especially at the TDL.

Hanzal, Pominville, Moulson, Leopold, Chris Stewart, David Jones, etc.

Hope he's learned his lesson.

He went out of his way to praise him on multiple occasions. Yet never got a legit chance.

In fact yes i would rather his say that about a plyer.

That is your opinion and not a fact. Just curious how would he know?

What reason was there to carry 8 up until this point then?

Any 9 million contracts on this roster?

In the grand scheme when compared to the league in general we have NOTHING resembling that bad of a contract on this roster.

If someone gets 9 mil from the team, I want it to be for a top stud two way dman. (think how they managed Carlson in Wash) Know what else is funny, teams that have these guys, normally keep them and pay that themselves. So the lesser players hit the market..desperate teams start a bidding war then you get such an overpay. Draft well..and develop your own players then keep them.
