I read a “rumour” about a Forsberg for Nylander + Dermott + Liljegren trade.

- Steven_Seagull

Maybe if they are retaining major cap here.

From Mapleleafshotstove

TOR gets: LW Filip Forsberg with $2.5M retention (1.5 years, $3.5M cap hit).

NSH gets: 2021 first round pick, C Alex Kerfoot (2.5 years, $3.5M cap hit), RD Topi Niemela, RW Joey Anderson.

Two weeks ago Habs taking on Leafs in battle for top spot in the North. Today they are fourth and coach is gone. Wild.

Yeah, and Habs fans bought in, big time. They fully believed they were the best team in the division. I saw piles of comments about them being a better team, with piles of depth, far better D, and the best goaltender in the league. But they don't, their team is pretty average overall.

So when they started losing, management started freaking out.

Maybe the overhype they got has something to do with this? In terms of standings they are right where I thought they would be going into the season

And rightly so. And I mean do you remember what it was like when we had a coach who could only speak Saskatchewan?

But what’s the point if we don’t get rid of Nylander?

Habs blog comments are entertaining right now. Overall happiness that the 2 coaches were let go, lots of richard riding about how good a job the GM did setting up the team this year (I really don't get that at all) and more than one comment about trading Price.

Of course plenty of conversations about who the next coach will be, I was tempted to chime in with a "I hope you enjoy your new head coach Mike Le Bab-Cock" but it seemed too much like pouring gas on a tire fire.

🤣

Despite what the know nothing's say, Forsberg and Nylander would make for a disgustingly good top 6.

I do think Bergevin made good moves. The acquisition of Allen, Edmundson, Toffoli and Anderson were all good moves - and the outgoing cost of Max Domi is offset mostly by those acquisitions. It makes them bigger and tougher and ostensibly makes more room for the young centres Suzuki and Kotkaniemi.

I think the problem is there is an expectation that the young centres are fully ready to carry the load. Bergevin made smart moves and then put his eggs in the basket that the two young centres are ready. They are both talented, but I don't think they're ready to carry the middle of the ice for the Habs. That said, they have a very even ice distribution on the Habs, and perhaps they'll benefit from a different distribution. I guess we'll see.

Grabbing Allen may have been a decent move, but there's no way having 15 million between the pipes isn't restricting things. If even half of that was in the top 6 you have a very different team.

I was looking through videos last night, including see these guys up in Orillia. Went with my son’s drunken friends in a party bus. He hauled my old sorry ass up close to the stage. Had fun with the kids. (Watching them all puke didn’t make me miss drinking)

Also watched a couple clips from Tom Petty’s last time here. Miss that guy.

Nylander has been dog poop lately and i predicted he would be.

But somehow in your twisted reality the jokes on me?

Leafs would be lucky to get a top 6 player back for him rn.

Keep on Santoing, Santard.

I can spend years saying dumb poop like 'Matthews is awful trade him'... And claim victory if he slumps for 10 games. Anyone can 🤷🏻‍♂️

Montreal is 11th in the league in winning percentage.

Forgive me for asking the d-bag question, but any chance this is not related to on-ice performance?

- Atomic Wedgie

I think he is a coach whose act wears thin after a while. It seems like the guy in Ottawa who had them successful for a while until the team got sick of him.

So the options for the Canadiens are...

Therien, Roy, Martin, Boucher, Crawford?

Do you practice being this big of a hypocrite or is it all natural? You whine and female dog like a little kid 24/7 and that's literally where your contribution peaks.

I'm positive you were dropped square on your skull as a baby or were the outcome of some sideways petrie dish experiment or something. (frank) off man child, go find a better safe space to cry and say dumb poop. 🤣

At this point if i had to choose a team to build around, id choose the Sens over the Habs.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Oh come on, that is not even close. The talent on the Sens is much better going forward.

I'm not sure if Crawford is up to coaching anymore.
Since the issue popped up a few years ago which led him to step away from the his coaching duties in Chicago.
