Shesty is now 5th in GAA amongst goalies that have played at least 8 games and 8th in save percentage amongst goalies with at least 8 games played. He’s really turned it around since the poor start he had. The defense playing well has helped but he’s been good as of late. |

He needs to stay in the net now. Stop with the goalie shuffle. |

Look I agree with you that there is no reason to shuttle Georgie in and out for kicks and giggles. However, let us not forget that Shesty has never played a whole NHL season before (or even a reduced one) and that Georgie might need 10-15 games this season.

Ok so Georgie gets 4-11 more games this year, I’m good with that. |

Two goalies are a must this season. Way too compact a schedule for ANY one guy to carry a team on his own. If Georgie can round into form it will go a long way in helping us get into the top half of the division.
I really think teams without a strong back-up will peter out this year. |

Why play someone based on "potential" when we have guys out there already who are clearly playing better than he is. Theres no way you play Gauthier ahead of Kakko, Buch and Blackwell. Youre talking about putting Blackwell on the 4th line? Hes been one of our best players. Blackwell has earned his spot and time in the lineup.
The type of player Gauthier is does not fit on this team as it stands. - aecliptic
Ok so to put things into perspective here, you would rather play a 5'9" 27yo journey man over a 23yo 6'4" POTENIAL power forward?? Yes Blackwell has been good but he isnt in the Ranger future plans. |

Georgie drives me nuts a bit
you have to help the team out from time to time and come up big on a breakaway, especially a young team like this
bail them out brah

3 unprotected 1st’s Nils Kravtsov Buch? I think BUF at least has to consider that - nyrangers9479
Why would they??? Buffalo has the BEST player in the deal. They would want more |

At this very date, with the way the two of them are playing, yes. I'd rather play Blackwell than Gaut. If Blackwell's production goes dry...that's a different story. |

A 5'9" 27 yo journeyman with 3g - 2a in 8 games this year, or a 6'4" power forward with 1g - 0a in 10 games this year, and 1g - 3a in 27 career games. Just to put it in perspective.
I'm a fan of Gauthier's game and look forward to him putting it all together. He's big, strong and fast, draws penalties and if he can develop a scoring touch he'd be pretty dangerous. Over the next 3 years give me Gauthier. Over the next 5 games or so I'm taking Blackwell. For bottom 6 players they have to earn their spot in the lineup each game. Blackwell has definitely earned more ice time than Gauthier has this year and I'm not sure how that's debatable |

signing Rooney and Blackwell to two year deals for like 700k each is proving briliant
having guys who can play for those cheap salaries is great and maybe one of them impresses Seattle so much they take one in expansion draft

Gauthier has to do more to earn his ice time. Blackwell is playing so well the coaches have no choice but to play him, Gauthier needs to do the same.
As far as the Eichel trade, if I'm Buffalo why would I take a trade with Lindqvist and Kratzov, they're both players that can continue playing in their own country if they don't want to deal with the dreadful situation that is Buffalo. Sure the chance at being in the NHL might entice them, but the way Kratzov has talked about coming back to the Rangers or rather lack of coming back wouldn't make me confident he's going to come back over to play for the Sabers. |

Yea that is the one big thing about Lindqvist. I know a lot of Ranger fans think he is a huge trade asset. But the dude isn't even signed to an entry level contract. Let's get him signed first before we can even talk about anything. Would suck to lose him for nothing. |

Yes, I would rather play Blackwell.
The facts are that Blackwell deserves to play every game and Gautier deserves to play here and there, based on what they are currently bringing to the team.
Furthermore, Blackwell is in the team's future plans at least as much as Gautier is. Blackwell can remain on the 4th line and be a true asset, Gaut can't. If he's not in the top 9, maybe even top 6, he hasn't hit his potential. Gaut doesn't have the game to stay in the bottom 6 and be as effective. And so far, he doesn't have what it takes to supplant one of the wingers above him. Period.
I have been excited by his potential, but if he doesn't stick here I won't lose sleep over it. It would mean that we are already in decent shape at his position. |

Retribution was feared after Panarin's Instagram post on 1/21 in support of opposition leader Alexi Navalny with caption "Freedom for Navalny." Panarin, who has family in Russia, has been outspoken against Putin. |
