I've been away for a couple games. I come back and the same damn conversation is happening with Eichel. My GOD!

Hey fellas

I don't post very often because I'm not in the "inner circle" but
I read every post on every thread. Where are you guys? When the team plays badly there are 600 posts complaining about everything under the sun. We just won a pair of road games against two of the top teams in the division. There's a lot of good things to talk about.

Quinn made some great decisions with the lines yesterday, I loved how he put out the bottom 6 and third pair for that last minute powerplay, that was a great move. Igor played well, Miller was back, Kreider, Laf and Zib scored, yeah I know it was an empty net, so what. The defense is playing really good, no one expected Bitetto & Hajak to be playing so well. Johnson's a healthy scratch, thank God. etc. etc.....

C'mon boys

Sadly, I thought that same thing when they won. That you'd guys tell me to stay away during games because they won while I wasn't on.

There is a strong argument to be made for bringing in Eichel. However, LaFranchise simply won't be part of that trade.

Its going to be a substantial cost: Strome and Buch to make the cap $$ work, 2 First round picks ( with at least one unprotected ) plus Kravtsov and any single one of our top defense prospects not in the NHL. Thats 6 total pieces and I realize that Sabres will STILL feel shortchanged. However, Buffalo has to realize they are NEVER going to get equal value in a deal like this and I am not sure there is another team that could beat that offer and has cap space to bring in a $10 mill/year player.

The good news for the Rangers: Eichel although a different type of player is at least as good as Zibby, is 4 years younger, has NO concussion or COVID history and is signed for the next 5 years when he will be all of 29 years old.
Eichel becomes our No. 1 center, Mika No. 2 for a year to build up his trade value, Chtyil is No. 3 until Zibby gets traded --- that will be a vast improvement over what we currently have.

The thing is Eichel has no leverage. Buffalo will accept the best offer they get.

Just like Blue Point Hoptical Illusion took us to the Finals.
Because, as we all know, what we do at home directly impacts what happens on the ice.

Yep. Eichel might end up in the desert or in Ottawa.

Neither team will pony up for a $10 mill/year player, especially if not home grown...

My point was that management is in charge and will take the best deal they can get, so he might end up on an even worse team.

His NMC kicks in at the end of next season, so in my mind Buffalo has until then to make him happy and put together a winning team or they may have to deal him before he holds all of the cards. I think we’re about 12 months early on the Eichel watch but you never know.

That may be the case, but it won't be Senators or Coyotes.

That cap hit is going to be tough to take on no matter where he ends up. Some significant salary has to be coming back besides the quality players/prospects.

I still think we make a trade with the Kings for one of their centers. They’re loaded at center and have a bunch of prospects at the position as well. They’re weak at wing which is what we’re loaded at, it just makes to much sense.

Eichel only gets traded after season or at the draft, by then we'll know where we pick anyway

I am dead set against trading any of these 5 players:

Lafreniere
Kakko
Fox
K'andre
Shesterkin

I would trade anything else in the organization that doesn't have a NTC, but I think it's unrealistic to think Buffalo would accept a ackage built around Kravstov and Lundkvist

I don't want to trade Kakko either because I think he is finally starting to show the star he will become in this league. However, given our winger depth, if you really believed in Eichel, you'd at least have to think about it. I've always said there so be no untouchable players under any circumstances. If a trade makes sense, you should always at least think about it.

He really was, but Hart was bad. I think though that we should have some hope still in this division. Boston is the only team that has a positive goal differential in our division. We start putting solid games together, we will move up the standings.

3 unprotected 1st’s Nils Kravtsov Buch? I think BUF at least has to consider that
