I think POJ is struggling with the increased role/minutes. Not unexpected. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they sat him in the remaining minutes of a tight game.

Yeah now that Pettersson’s been eased back in he has to come off the top pairing. That’s too much for a non-game breaker rookie.

Sully on Kap....

• Kasperi Kapanen started the game on the No. 1 line and finished it on the bench, taking just one shift in the third period. "I was trying to find guys who were bringing it tonight, who were competing hard and would give us the best chance to win," Sullivan said. "I didn't think (Kapanen) had his game going tonight, so I was trying to find guys who were going to give us an opportunity to win." Kapanen finished with 11 minutes, 42 seconds of ice time and two shots on goal.

Yeah. Dumo I think has a good defensive hockey iq, but I think his biggest strength is knowing how to play with Letang after so many years. Maybe that’s why Letang seems so bad the last couple years, is that’s when dumo originally went down with his injury and noones known how to play with Letang to cover his lapses. Dumo was always the one with the good stick and positioning in front of the net.

Letangs and MM’s can be super effective but need to have a good stay at home defensive partner. A Paul Martin, Michalek, the Piece, to compliment their style by covering their mistakes. Prime Letang and prime karlson would be terrible together because they would both be caught behind the opposing net together, but there would be some wicked highlight plays. Prob lots of 2 on 1s lol.

Poj showed he can play in the nhl and can move up the lineup if needed even as a rookie. But for proper development ease his role and let him grow his skill set and his confidence instead of just trying to tread water and react to his surroundings.

I wouldn't move Malkin to the fourth line.

I pass on Laine. He is just and offensive threat he doesn't put much effort when in the defensive zone. Plus I don't see that package getting it done. I think everyone is correct. They need to switch Guentzel and Zucker.

I think Laine is exactly what Kessel was but younger and a can one time a puck. Perfect fit for the PP and we would have no more complaints about Genos wingers.

I am well aware of his shortcomings, I just believe what he excels at is exactly what the Pens need/are missing.

Why I'm overly cautious about trading Legare. I don't necessarily think he will be anything special. But a RH sniper can certainly carve out a role on this team.
