What logistics? The ice is not going to melt. Its on a golf course in the middle of winter so we don't have to worry about any one teeing it up. Television always has flex time built in and can make it work if they need to. The teams can always move games around, they have done so already this season. There is NO reason I can think of they can't postpone this game one week.

We need to focus on what is, not what we hope. Patrick was the consensus #2 pick after Heschier. As a matter of fact he was thought of as the #1 for a lot of people. He has been hurt and ill. But he's a precious commodity. He certainly needs time, and he's going to get it. Unfortunately he hasn't broken out yet.

Anyway if NAK never played again it would have zero bearing on any success the flyers have or don't have in the future. He can be replaced internally. He isn't TK or Farabee who can not be replaced internally and are critical to the flyers future. Surely you see the difference.

Yes he did and the 4th line was slower and the forecheck sucked. The team also was not playing well. NAK also took that spot away from Stewart because he was better. Players progress is not flat. Just because Stewart started on the team over NAK doesnt mean NAK was playing at the level he currently is now.

Your post is not in the correct context in my opinion. The issue at this point isn't whether he was worth the 2nd pick in the draft. That is irrelevant at this point. The conversation and the question is what does Patrick have to do to be better, to be more of a factor offensively? Skating ability is not an issue with Patrick. It seems to me you have a real issue with properly assessing skating ability with players. The issue is where Patrick is skating to on the ice. Is he around the puck, is he at the net. Is he getting to the scoring areas around the net?
Here you again with " he is what he is". I guess it's another young player who can't improve. I guess we have to have that conversation again! Absurd

If Patrick can become a 20-20 two way center, than that is a valuable player for the team as a center behind Couturier and Hayes. It's about the big picture. It's about the team. It's about center depth.

I can get 3rd and 4th line center depth any time I want, I don't need to waste the number 2 pick in the draft for it! However, I agree that speed alone does not get it done, in that you need to know where to go on the ice to be in the best position both offensively and defensively. And I'm sure its possible that Patrick can develop his game to become a 20/20 player like you said, which for contending team is a valuable piece.

But the Flyers are not a cup contending team IMO; they need a top pairing defenseman and a 40+ goal scorer much more than they need a 3rd line center if they are going to become a true cup contender. Whether its fair or not, Patrick is not living up to the player everyone thought he would be, including Hextall who thought he was drafting a number 1 center for years to come.
