Amen, hoping for the best - ClaudeFather
First of all, Patrick hasn't really played in almost 2 years. He was starting to come around the end of year 2. Then migraines and covid. We are looking at a kid, out 2 years with no training camp or pre season. Lest we forget, both Patrick, AND FROST were taken in the same first round in the same draft. Patrick jumped str8 to the NHL and Frost, took the traditional rout and STILL didn't make the team out of camp. Both will be good NHL players. FROST has a lost season going. Strange times. Strange development paths. I think Patrick will be fine. He has some slick hands. |

What's amazing is looking at that draft, even with all the time missed. Patrick is still tied for 3rd in GP among all players taken in that draft.

Offense is usually one of the last things to fully develop from players. Nolan will get there. May not bet at the elite end but fairly productive. |

Its ok I enjoy it. I cant be as knowledgeable as you with that catholic school education.
Keep in mind the GM and coaching staff (the experts) also didn't think he was an NHL player; nor did the prior regime. That is why he was waived very early in camp last year; also why he was roughly the 6th call up option when he got his chance. What do they know anyway.
I will be at Cheers in Port Richmond around 6:30 stop in. - login

This will probably sound like I’m slagging the kid, I’m not, he was picked right where he was projected to be picked, however, I think when we look back I doubt he’ll be in the top 10 point producers of the 2017 NHL draft despite starting in the league immediately following his draft year. He might not even be top 20?
He was the oldest player taken in the 2017 NHL draft I think. |

You are such an internet bully. Does that stem from your days getting bullied yourself at Frankford High School.
Just checked. The 2 balls still intact. You had me worried for second. |

No you didnt.
If NAK never plays another game for the flyers, do you think that will have any effect on where they finish going forward? - login

you could replace NAK with a guy that is always in the box putting the team at a disadvantage |

So you dont think replacing NAK with Lehtera or Chris Stewart will have a negative impact on the team?
Fact is NAK is currently on the team because he is the best player available for that position. Fletcher doesnt just put all the AHL players names in a hat and pick 3 for AV to use on a 4th line.

Really doesn’t mean anything, there’s a good 5 plus guys I could think of that are already clearly better than him in Suzuki, the 3 after him, Thomas, even a guy like Necas |

Fletcher did sign Stewart over NAK for AV to use on the 4th line did he not...
Anyway if NAK never played again it would have zero bearing on any success the flyers have or don't have in the future. He can be replaced internally. He isn't TK or Farabee who can not be replaced internally and are critical to the flyers future. Surely you see the difference. |

You still said he stinks and wouldn’t be a regular. Then tried shifting the conversation to whether or not he’s replaceable because you were wrong. Hope you had fun at cheers. I didn’t know people actually went there. |

The point had nothing to do with who was better.

See that the flyers are not allowed to practice at the outdoor site. I expect the Bruins are, yet another huge advantage. NHL should not allow Bruins to either of flyers can’t.
Edit: seeing now that neither team is allowed. That’s fair.
I wonder how the goalies will fare with no practice and weird sight lines. |

Well, I hope the league is happy with what they got tomorrow. The healthy 1st place Boston Bruins play a special outdoor hockey game in quaint Lake Tahoe against the Flyers pre-season B squad. Sounds like a great television event that I am sure millions will be watching on the edge of their seats! All the league had to do is postpone this game for 1 week and then both teams can play a competitive game that will showcase the league, but nope, we'll do it this way instead. No wonder many people think the NHL is a joke league. |

If I was the league I would have substituted another team in, but whatever. Issue is that there were so many in protocol. Not wise to have them fly across the country. The team mentality seems correct. Next man up and do your best to stay competitive in this game. 1 pt would be massive.
Bruins are missing a centre and have had a lot of time off between games before losing to NJ. Every team has issues to deal with. |
