That and mil. are rare forms of abbreviation. Confusing to look at, as the mln very closely resembles min in most fonts (sans serif), especially on smaller screens and more senior eyes

I just like giving Max a hard time because he's usually spouting off garbage on here endlessly. If it was anyone else, they'd get a pass.

Absolutely, he did make some good moves, and I think it was the right move to start Hutch. It just reaffirmed how bad a goalie he still is. Really looking forward to Campbells return.

Every time the players looked back they likely remembered not to take time off. Keeping the team playing at a high level is Keefe’s biggest task this year.

50 point defensemen don't get 6 million.
- AdamFrench

A defenseman that isn’t very good defensively.

He’s only got over 50 points one year.

What team has ever let their number 1 defender walk? Besides St. Louis?
- AdamFrench

I really like Rielly, but I think I object to the use of the word 'defender'! He's our #1 defenseman, but does he defend?

Every time you think he's improving at it and becoming more complete he pulls a Jake Gardiner and you're left scratching your head. 🤷🏻‍♂️

He looks a bit hesitant this year on the rush, which takes away a lot from his game and leaves... less to be desired.

With what Adam noted above, he was also on a 47pt pace last year, despite being bumped off the top PP pairing for half the year in favour of Barrie, and is on a 63pt pace this year.

It's pretty reasonable to expect a player like Rielly to roll in with around 55pts / year. He's not going to score more than 10 on average (like the 20 he did a few years back), but he's an excellent passer and skater.

He has another season at 36 and the rest are in the 20’s.

Like someone pointed out Krug signed for 6.5 and has better stats then rielly.

I bet they extend Rielly.

Dubas is going to sink or swim with this core.

- Aetherial

Will be curious to see how he extends Rielly and is able to keep Willie.

So you are saying we just trade Andersen and play Hutch as the starter full time?

I’m not saying he isn’t good, just that in my opinion I wouldn’t pay him over 6.5. He has so much potential but keeps me wanting more and seems like he hasn’t taken that next step that we’ve all hoped he would.

Matthews with the same amount of goals last night as eichel has in 12 games.

So that’s fun.

I think Krug would be absolute low bar and maybe Carlsson/OEL on the high end.

Although the PA and Agents are probably going to be predicting Cap increases beyond 22'.

They're not the same age. Krug is 3 years older, and he's already playing in his prime years.

Take ages 23 -25 for both players:

Rielly played in 205 games with 29 goals and 122 assists;
Krug played in 240 games with 24 goals and 110 assists;

If you were to level that out to an average 82 game season:

Rielly is at 12 goals and 49 assists;
Krug is at 8 goals and 38 assists.

Krug is a very good player, and I don't want to take anything away from him, but you're maybe being too objective when evaluating Rielly.

How many goals would Eichel get if Marner was setting him up?

He is really good..... just not Matthews
