It's not an exclusive rights deal. There's going to be another network in the picture, and it could be NBC. If not, it's probably going to be FOX.

I still view this as a good thing. I’ve been saying for years, every bar, hotel bar, airport bar, cafeteria and dentist office across the land puts ESPN on by default. That exposure is worth so much. NBCSN is a specialty channel only dedicated fans watch.

It didn't help in the late 90s/early 2000s. Once ESPN got the NBA contract, the NHL took a back seat and really wasn't shown much except at playoff time. In fact, ESPN lowballed the NHL at the time of the first NBC deal.

Also, if this ESPN deal is going to be as streaming heavy as some of the reports indicate, the "exposure" factor won't be that big. The NBA and NCAA basketball and football will still dominate the main channels because they are paying for more money for those deals.

whelp, they've got that very limited cap space, are the third oldest team in the league (26.7,) have only 35 players signed through next season @ $120,249,787 with an allen contract needing to get done

If they pick up Allen's fifth year option, they can kick that can down the road another season.

Not disagreeing, Beane has his work cut out for him, but they could free up 30mill pretty easy if they want. The draft is gonna be very important the next couple years.

I don't get how that statement is a reflection on his support for Ralph. It's just an objective statement about where they are at.

The Sabres still don’t employ a scout to cover the Western Hockey League. Also have no coverage in Finland or Russia.

Won’t be easy to prep for a July draft.

The cap is also going to be over $200 million easily after next season.

The new Monday night football TV contract and fans are going to be back.

Beane does need to hit on this draft, but look at the Saints, the salary cap is a figment of your imagination

Even at 30 there will be good OL and LB's available. If that Cincinnati rumor is true I might actually do it this year, would give them 2 picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. It would suck losing the 5th yr option but could fill more spots this year.

Other than Allen the next two players that will need or want new deals and will be pricey are Edmunds and Diggs

The Bills aren't in a terrible spot.

They can make a few cuts, keep Milano if they want, get a TE and potentially add a pass rusher and still be fine.

There's work to be done for sure but it's not as bad as a lot of other teams

spotrac has the bills at just under $89M in cap space for 2022...take out and estimated $23M for allen that season (dependent upon what they do with a contract extension) and they still have $66M

NFL cap — $182.5 million. Reality: Teams make it what they want. Extensions, voidable years. Pushing out money. Cash much more of an issue than the cap.
