As for Bellows, it sounds to me as though this has been brewing for a bit. I have a feeling it's work ethic-related too. You don't just call a kid out after returning from the txi squad for one bad night.
Hell, Komarov single-handedly lost us a game with no critique. So there must be a lot more. That said if you did want to trade him public lashings are counter productive.

I really like the lines they went with against BUF in the last game, same lineup except MDC for Bellows. Good balance throughout the lineup.

I don't think Trotz just volunteered his critique. I think he was just answering a reporter's question. But, you're right, in that he could have offered a more diplomatic response rather than an honest answer.

I think where 7 missed the point was that yes all nhl players are great against average Joe's but they can make a lot of mistakes against other nhlers. He is correct they will kill us on the ice however we are in fact not on the ice Bailey drives me nuts but all the players and coaches say he's so smart on the ice, again I'll take their word for it but I'm still gonna female dog about him on a fan board

He'll wake up at some point. I've come to terms with Nelson and Bailey. They are who they are. Id' rather they both be in the line over the other options.

That’s not an insult to you it’s stating the FACT that hockey forums and message boards are made to critique and debate about players, coaches, GM’s, whatever. But that doesn't make them all so high iq that they're infallible. Many of us have been around the game longer than any player in the league has been alive Played at highly competitive levels, coached, refereed etc. I'm pretty sure most of us are capable of calling out a mistake when we see it.

I'm also pretty good at guitar but I'm no EVH. Yet I can sure as hell tell when he f'd up

I started at 4. Was fortunate to get invited to Can/Am camp a few years. Knew I was better than most but one unavoidable truth in the 70s was that kids in my area were skating Oct to March. Many of the Candian kids there were skating year around.
Still I was fortunate enough to play in Russia, Sweden, Finland etc in my 9th grade year on a team trip. Played up through college etc and made it up a bit but I was never dedicated enough to really see how far it would take me. I was undersized enough that I knew the realities.
