We need Ross Johnston back in the line up. That would’ve never happened if he were in the line up
- Cptmjl

I’m gonna say Ross needs to play center for Barzal.

Trotz on Bellows: "He's been in every meeting, every practice so there's no excuses. I won't make any excuses for Kieffer and he won't make any for himself. Dal Colle went in and did a really good job. Wally went in, he's done a really good job. That was Kieffer's opportunity."

He didn’t especially have the best game. Was a step behind but I feel like most of the team was also.

Dal Colle must have been banged up if Trotz praised him in that quote like that but didn't play him.

Starting to get the feeling that Bellows isn't in the good graces of anyone who's thoughts matter in this organization.

Could be the steroids or whatever that was too. Hopefully someone wants him as part of a package at the deadline.

Yeah that seems pretty clear at this point. Trade bait I’m guessing even though I’m sure his value isn’t especially high.

Well that’s not true. Professional hockey players opinions matter nobody else’s.

Either that or he takes an Islander loss rather personally.

I don’t have an opinion for fear of being attacked. Unless it’s complimentary of professional hockey players, coaches, and GM’s. After all we are all just idiots who don’t understand these people are good at what they do.

This is from @MikeKellyNHL and the good folks at @Sportlogiq. They still don't score a ton, but don't fall behind the Islanders in a game, cause they lock it down better than any team in the league and it ain't close.

This is made all the more encouraging now that the PP is starting to click. 14th best in the NHL thus far, even though they sit 28th in opportunities for.

If Nelson could finally remove his head from his leather cheerio and start scoring a little bit it'd go a long way.

I really like the lines they went with against BUF in the last game, same lineup except MDC for Bellows. Good balance throughout the lineup.

Yep. We should stop using hockey message boards immediately and both you and 7 should find pro level hockey message boards so your vast and obvious hockey acumen is not wasted here.

It spreads the wealth. Beau-Pageau-Wahlstrom is a pretty damn good third line

I'd settle for him just playing the defensive side of the puck. He's a team worst +/- of -8, I think. His line seems to get trapped in the d-zone a lot of the time. He makes weak passes, and loses too many one on one battles for the puck.

Now I suppose I should make this disclaimer: I never played in the NHL, the AHL, the ECHL, college hockey, or anyone's beer league.

I get your point but I’m not sure MDC is going to help/inspire getting Nelson out of his funk

Nelson is another frustrating guy. For a guy as big as he is, he gets knocked off the puck so easily, makes tons of mental errors etc. It all becomes highlighted when he isn't scoring but tolerable when he is
