Sure, but you could make a case that the Habs outplayed and outworked the Leafs in each of those games.

Were you not watching, that’s called the rope-a-dope.

Anyone read the Sens blog and the comments within? Poop followed by more poop......good for a few chuckles.

Apparently the Sens outplayed the Leafs last night. Who knew? Definately nobody that was singing along to the 1993 hit tune "Leafs are the Best........better than all the rest, from the east cost to the west, the Leafs are the beeeeeeest".

Not exactly a scientificmical survey, but wow, the Sabres thread is angry right now.

People are saying to trade Eichel.

We need to keep an eye on this, in case Hockeybuzz-Sabres edition decides to jettison Dahlin.

Where are they hiding the Sabres thread?

but, it's Ottawa...

I think the way you feel abut Nylander is the way I feel about Andersen. Needs to be consistently better.

- PatC80

Ottawa still has NHL players....you give them enough chances they'll score on any goalie.

Says the dude that hates William Nylander..

Maybe Jumbo Joe is just a big softie and a cuddly teddy bear..

We may disagree, but Andersen has been ok, just ok.. Hasn't ben anywhere near consistent though

- PatC80

Willy has 0pts in 6 games, is soft as baby poop, and does nothing else well.

oh and he's making 7mil.

I agree on the first game. Habs deserved a better fate and lost in OT.

2nd game belonged to the Leafs though, I don't think the Habs did enough to win it.

3rd game was evenly split, first half saw the Leafs dominate but scoring only one goal on a very good performance by Price, while the Habs regrouped in the 2nd half to win it.

Bottom line, they've been fun games. Seeing both teams having success at the same time is great for hockey.

don't hear other teams say "We need to coddle our goalie"
- PatC80

Because you're not in their threads or groups daily.
But its a common theme among NHL teams, dont hang your goalie out to dry all the time.

Also, Andersen needs to be better on a consistent basis.

He is soft, and does float a lot.
But a 6 game drought happens....happens to most players.
Its all good.

So how are we doing compared to the KHL?
- Canada Cup

So all statistics are meaningless when extrapolated outside of divisions with teams who play within the same league?

There is no possibly way to compare relative team strength outside of a team's division?

except goaltending is way more important than a 2nd line LW, and Willy makes 2mil more than freddy.

If Willy made 5mil or less i wouldn't care at all about his inconsistency. Freddy has been good this year.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

Andersen has been ok.. I wouldn't say he's been good, he has been inconsistent all year. The save% of .905 is not that good.

You would only like Nylander if he had a cap hit of $1.9M, I'd like Andersen if his save % was near .915

Freddie’s save % when we’re on the PP is .750.

Best bet is to decline the penalties for now on.

Have willy center Marner....or even just play on his line.
Marner makes all his centers and skillful line mates scoring machines.

cant be doing that and getting paid 7 mil.

Remember when Wilson got paid (5.16mil per) and everyone was like "Whoa! What a steal Nylander is for 7mil!!"

He'll never be half the player Wilson is. Its a bad contract.

I still feel like a powerplay running at 32% effectiveness is worth having.

If anything, it's bailing the Leafs out quite alot.

People seem worried about save %, just trying to help out.

.933 5v5
.750 on the PP
.804 on the PK
