I cant believe I was typing out almost this exact same thing.. these would-be adulterers are somehow not going to go bat-poop crazy on each other for cheating. Instead, the rendezvous that they fully-groomed for turns out to be with the same can of beans they have been getting progressively more sick of as the countless lost years of their lives got flushed down the toilet in this dead marriage.

Looking at the last 6 games, Willy is pretty much where you expect him to be in most stats.

Just looking at the 10 forwards used who played all 6 games

cf he is 46%, middle of the pack. but only Spezza is over 50% for players that have played all 6 games. Its a team wide thing, corsi has been bad, but HD/xgf/scoring chances decent

I try to keep Willy in the same boat that we want to keep in Andersen in. In other words - what you're doing is ok, but it could be better. We know Andersen is capable of being a .915 or better goalie, and it's our expectation. When he isn't, we're let down by what he isn't doing. So his proponents can talk about the good saves he made and detractors can talk about the bad goals he allowed - and the lowered stats support his detractors.

With Willy, he's on pace for a 20 goal / 58pt normal season. Last year he paced out at 37 goals / 71 pts. So he is off pace from last year, especially for a young guy who you would typically project progression from. He's a streaky player, so his next hot streak will probably erase these deficit numbers - but I think that's a part of the frustration with him. Streaky players are frustrating. Especially if they're not exceptionally well rounded - because when they aren't producing, they're magnets for criticism.

Rielly is just trying to do to much in certain spots, can’t jump up without a little bit of help behind you. My McCabe days are blurry, was in a West only hockey pool and the Leafs were the least of my worries then.
