I'm starting to think there's a common denominator.... #87.

Sid has and can play with anyone. Malkin needs the right wingers to compliment his style.

Lol, one down. Any more to come? Would love to see A.

Was just about to type I agree. Guentzel and Rust can play with either center, but Zucker has been much better with Crosby.

But now I think you don't know what you're talking about. Onviously Kapanen should have been with Sid!

Weird. Why circle back? You have room to head to the net with Sid.

It's funny, 'cause it used to be the other way around. Geno isn't elevating his wings this season. Kap looked like sh!t on his line. This game, he's all over the place.

I don't think Malkin and Zucker mesh, but I also think there is too much blame on his wings. Malkin is just fumbling pucks all over the place.

Blueger has less talented linemates and nowhere near the PP time and has 1 more point. No way that should happen.

I agree. Malkin has been looking better but that first dozen games was bad. Jarry looking sharp again tonight. Overall a good period for the most part so far.

Yea, I think Guentz who can make plays would help Geno get out of his slump.

Yea he's definitely getting his fair share of blame. But still think Guentz who is our best winger at making plays(best winger in general) would take some pressure off Geno. I think Sids line would be still going strong with Zuck and Kap.

Yeah Malkin is off on his own. Zucker isn’t helping, and maybe a different winger helps to flip some kind of a mental switch, but giving Malkin Guentzel isn’t a silver bullet to get Geno going. I think it’s a good step, but it may not work.

On the other hand, I think stylistically Zucker would be way better with Crosby and putting him with Sid may actually be the silver bullet solution to turning his season around.

Is jank 6ft 4 or 5ft 4....the guy is terrible. We have the worst 4th line in the league.
Zucker project will end he will be traded. The pass he made too rust early in the game was beer league

Eh, I've been getting a different vibe with all the focus on switching wings. Like it's an excuse. Maybe I'm reading into it, seems like every time Malkin struggles the finger gets pointed to guys around him.

I do agree it is worth trying, as much to get Zucker a different look as Malkin.

I figured it had to be something to go after him with no provocation on the first shift.

F the Islanders and their victimhood, though. Injure another, Brandon.

Yea I think you are reading too much into it. Most of us know Geno is struggling and it's just time to give him Guentz to see if it helps. Zucker is not working with Geno either so that doesn't help.

Yeah, Malkin is still attempting low-percentage cross-ice passes when the correct play is to go down the boards or chip to the corner. Whoever said it's a mental thing with Malkin and Letang, I agree with that. Doesn't really matter who the wingers are, they are mostly in the correct positions.
