Parise and Suter? Has there been a big push after those two? I feel like we never really have the cap for it so that might explain things.
But apart from the real big fish, I feel like we don't get the medium fish that we can fit under the cap either. Maybe that's a matter of not pursuing them, but it feels like we're never in the running for the best guys at the cap hit we can actually afford. Last time I felt like we got "the guy" was when we got Eric Fehr. - Victoro311
Woulda loved to target Hoffman this off-season.
Hoffman-Geno-Kapenan
Zucker-McCann-Horny
Middle six woulda been awesome. |

Not at all my point and definitely agree that paying market prices in free agency is the least efficient way of getting talent. I’m just saying that trading Letang and signing hamilton sounds like an obvious move, but the signing Hamilton part of it is absurdly hard to do. |

1 thing I can tell you for sure is they pretty much started looking into doing exactly that with pietrangelo... and found out they had 0% chance of signing him then the trading Letang rumours quickly stopped after that. |

Yeah well that’s the thing. You have to overpay to get a UFA. And the Pietrangelo contract is horrendous. |

He probably should have been, but Jagr liked playing with Kip Miller. Even got him on Washington |

Oh yeah I forgot about those 2. That was Shero still, right? That was a while ago. Thank god that didn't happen. - j.boyd919
Suter has been pretty damn solid on that contract. 40-50pts and really solid D. It's a long one but it would have been amazing to get him.
But yeah, Parise not so much. |

No to trading Malkin. I like the idea of swapping the Cs. It might work.
Btw I was just remembering how excited I was when we got Ponikarovsky and Brassard. Lol Douglas Murray too haha |

Barnaby and Laraque got me excited as well. At the time I thought we gave up too much for #36. Stu Barnes was productive but was getting there in age.
I always hated Brashear. |

Question: is a swap around McCann for Virtanen feasible? |
|

Better than the pieces of crap at pensburgh. Perma banned from ‘trolling’ because I don’t agree with their idiot writers. I used to love the edited photos ppl made like 07-09ish though. Where they would do movie posters with the pens on it lol. |

I’d offer them sceviour and a 2022 4th. They have lots of bad contracts and need space more than another serviceable player. Send Laff to the ahl, and someone else if possible to clear up space for pitts cap. |

Haha I got permabanned from mlive because I called out the beat writers for their fluff coverage of the wings while Holland was driving the future of the franchise into the ground. |

The sad part of that is Doug Murray probably worked out best here out of the 3 of them. |
