This is when I wish we had a big ogre we could trot out on the 4th line. Not like it would make that much difference anyway. - Hockey66
I noticed yesterday there was a big spike in fights in the nhl this week. Seems like teams are getting sick of each other finally. Did Todd Reirdon fight in his day? Someone should at least show these guys how to hold their own. I really like Tanev but he looked like he couldn’t fight for poop against a much tougher Cizikas last night. |

With certain teams it will be bound to pick up. Part of fighting is skill but if a guy is afraid of getting hit, he will always lose a fight. Not every guy has that in them. |

Amazing to see Matheson looking like the guy who earned that contract in the first place. He needs to keep it up but his ability to push the offence would make moving on from Letang easier to swallow.
ZAR takes the cake though in terms of impressing. I thought he was toast and about to get pushed to the A but he has been fantastic.
It's going to be a dog fight to get into the playoffs. Pretty much the last 3/4 of the season are all must win games. If Jarry can have more solid efforts like that one the Pens have a good shot. |

Yea, ZAR looks like a completely different player. |

I'm happy to eat crow. Ceci has been awesome. MM has been great the last three games. If he can keep it up the Pens are in a great situation to bolster this lineup. - Rinosaur

Did not see that coming.
Like most here, I've been critical of Matheson, Zucker, and Jarry and all 3 played well tonight.
A NASA Rover landed on Mars today and the Penguins played a 60 minute hockey game... one of these events is more improbable than the other and I'm thinking its the latter.
Got to get these points versus the Islanders and Capitals. Likely two of us will make iand the other will miss the playoffs. Which is stupid that the Canada division gets 4 and we get 4. The Canada division is a joke. - SuperHenderson13
I see that the change in management is working out just fine lighting a fire under their asses. Produce or get traded soon.
Geno showed some life last night. Loved it. |

No doubt. I'm pretty happy with Ceci's play. Savvy. Just wish we could get someone who could drop the gloves more often. (frank)ing Martin went after Matheson for the Barzal hit. |

We all have to agree with this. I thought he'd come back slow and out of shape but he's flying out there. |

Let him, he took himself out of the game. Sucks for the Islanders because that line has insane chemistry. |

Was hoping Angelo might be that guy. Might as well call him up next game, not like we need to worry about disrupting the 4th line. |

I am hoping he gets a shot over O'Connor in the next game. He use fight and stand up for players in WBS quite a bit. |

What if GMJR's plan, once Matheson worked out, was to make the trade of a defenseman for an EPIC 3C that would not only make that line roll, but put Blueger/Tanev/ZAR back on the 4th line, that would really be like having 2 3rd lines
What if the smart play was to EXTEND GMJR and not have him quit in disgust??? - TheGame316
I did wonder about JR after watching Matheson play well. There had been rumors of JR leaving due to pressure from the owners following the Hornqvist deal. I know he stated in an interview that he didn't have a deal pending, but I do wonder if he also disagreed with management on wanting to shop Letang and Malkin due to effort and turnover issues.
Hopefully we can put together another solid effort next game. A winning streak would really help this team. |

Oh absolutely we only have 3 good lines. (frank) waiting for McCann to be healthy. Make a deal. - 668710
I wonder if they are also waiting on Riikola to get healthy as well. A healthy Pens team could mean a few options to trade.
Dumo resumed skating, Riikola, McCann, and Rodriguez.
I think they will try a McCann- Jankowski- Rodriguez line. If that doesn't work I think trades will happen.
They will also probably look at LHD with Riikola and Dumolin returning. We could probably move a Defenseman in a deal. |

That's weird because they didn't register a second of ice time together last night, so I'm not sure what game you were watching. |

Janko gotta go, he's the weakest link, him or Laff. I like Sceviour better than Laff. I like ERod better than Janko, Laff, Sceviour and O'Connor
