MM is stringing together some solid games right now... But I need to see more before getting too carried away - MattStrat
Are you saying MM is getting to his game?

Def, but Tojo will tell you what I think lol - 668710
Not good enough, Malkin needs someone who makes plays like Guentzel. |

I dont see a whole lot to be worried about regression. Typically, if a bad player happens to be on the ice for a lot of goals for but are still playing badly, you can tell. Matheson is making intelligent plays that are contributing to good shifts. His issue has always being a big (frank)ing idiot and he looked the part before getting hurt, but it looks like he went to Sylvan Learning Center and learned how to read while he was out. He does not look like the low IQ player that came from FL. - Victoro311
So how long before we make a plate of Matheson crow for all of us? |

What if they used Tanger in Phil's old spot and put MM on the PP... Took Rust off 1st unit.... - MattStrat
This makes perfect sense to me and it did back when they had Schultz. I think they experimented with it last year in camp and Sully didn't like something about it. |

I notice that ceci is really good at controlled exits as well, and even a few zone entries. Every game I’m liking him a bit more. Hopefully MM can keep his play up. He’s making some alright defensive plays too. |

His play has been encouraging the past couple games. It's not the flashes on offense or takeaways I'm looking for, that was expected. But the brutal decisions he was making in Florida and his first few games haven't been there lately. Need to see it for a longer-term. |

Yeah... I think with Letang, much like Phil, you're getting a right handed fast crafty skating playmaker. Only difference is Phil's wrister...I consider it one of the best wristers of all time. Thats no knock on Tangers wrister, it's just Phil's is truly special. Still though, I think the potential is there for it to really work. |

I think you just explained why we should stop trying to replicate that PP. |

So tonight it’s me poopting on Zucker that gets it done. Nice puck retrieval by Malkin and a good little pass by Rust (who got a poopty cross check at the end). |
