The thing about the deadline this year is that, if you trade for a player outside the division, that 14 days quarantine makes him available for the beginning of the playoffs.

So no time to get used to his new team until the "real" games begin.

I feel like if the Leafs, or any other team in Canada, want to add players for a playoffs push. Trades will happen a little sooner than the deadline.

Forget Robertson on the PP...I have seen flashes of immediate impact there.

5V5 in the top 6? Yeah I think we will be very disappointed if we think he will provide enough there this year. It is a lot to expect from him.

Good point, gives the Leafs another month to accumulate cap space to accomodate a move. In addition the two week wait will be another opportunity to accumulate cap space. TDL is April 12 so a trade in late March or early April would seem ok.

I don't see anyone thinking Sandin can provide a top 4 role this year...Robertson is the same level of prospect.

It kind of baffles me that people think he can be a top 6 forward this year...if he is? Great. He can help the 3rd line and produce on the PP.

We are going to likely see Dubas upgrade his team this year...Fridge thinks so as well.

Their prospects at a quick fix aren't that great either because they are going to have to pay Petterssen and Hughes next year and despite being a cap team have more filler than cheap dogfood in their lineup. Joe gets another month but lets be realistic ...the Leafs are trying to win a cup ..and if they can improve and the price is right ...they have to do it.

You don't make a choice not to get better bc of a promise you may have made to a guy who's been a member of the dressing room for a minute.
