It can be both. It was a poor defensive play that was followed up by a house league goalie attempt. We all know Freddie is capable of far better than that.

What more can you say. He lets in a softie about once a game, sometimes more than that. People still believe he is an adequate NHL goalie.

It was a brutal giveaway, but andersenhas to have that. Short side backhander? No Chance of going to the middle of the ice.

I am last to say anything about the goalies, but that was a bad one. Not tipped, not screened, no chance of going anywhere else but where it went.

Being a blind zealot who praises even the most poor plays doesn't make you a great Leaf fan. As fans we have the right to call out poor play when we see it. Turning a blind eye to it forgives it and enables it.

Some demand so much of Nylander, yet so little of Freddie.
