I think as an overall player he’s an upgrade over the likes of Jankowski, ERod and Sceviour.
- Rinosaur

Based on what. They’re all basically the same player.

Ryan can play net front too. Not a great fit for the left wall. Big body with skill wow
- Feds91Stammer

Ok so he's not a one time kinda guy but cna make plays from there/net front. Is he similar to say JVR? I know he's not exact like him because JVR is a tipping machine.

I don't know. I guess I fixate on him because to me he's the only realistic piece the Pens can probably get from there.

Similar for sure but JVR is an elite net front guy.

Yea I just wouldn't waste trading anything for him unless it's Jank or Rodrigues for him.

I'm honestly just still in the mindset that this is a bad season to make big moves. It's a weird year for sure and while last game was a breath of fresh air I just think the Pens are better off riding this season out and reevaluating in the off-season.

There are certain types of moves I'd of course welcome, but by and large I think the Pens should stay out of the rental market.

Well I'm going off of what Burke and Hex was saying, so I'm assuming they will get someone. Rackell would be a good pickup because he's not a rental, however will he regain that 30 goal scoring touch?

Depends on whose available. Namestnikov went for a 4th last year as a rental.

Not unless he has another outlier shooting percentage season.

Grant is better than Blueger?
- Feds91Stammer

We already had one round of Derek Grant. I’d rather not have another.

That would be great if we had a 4th lol. The Pens have a 2nd, a 5th and three 7ths. If a 5th gets him and they can send off Jank or ERod then great. I'm down for those type of rental moves.

I'm open to moving that 2nd if a hockey trade is available. This year is a poop draft, so it really doesn't matter, but as much as I'd like Getz here, I think giving up all those assets is a mistake.

That’s why I’m offering Fabbri and Ryan lol. You get a middle 6 C/W with contract control and a middle 6 winger with size.

I honestly don't know anything about Fabbri. I'm definitely down with Ryan. I wanted the Pens to sign him this season.

Here’s a pre draft report on Fabbri:
A highly advanced offensive player who understands the attack zone and has a great feel and passion in occupying it. Is a strong skater who stays on track due to his skating base and plays not only strong on the puck but on the forecheck to unearth it. Creates chance with good anticipation, soft hands and absolute fearlessness against larger players.

He was on his way to being a star player before two major knee injuries derailed his career for a bit. He’s definitely overcome that and is still a good player.

What are your expectations? Everybody loved Nick Bonino as a third line center. I am going to add Matt Cullen because he got significant time playing either third line or wing in the top six. This was due to Malkin's injuries. In his two years here, BoninoBoninoBonino centered a line that scored thirty goals 5v5 each year. Cullen's line scored 30 and 29 those same two years. Excluding the power play Bonino scored 7 and 12 goals, Cullen had 16 and 11.

Blueger and Tanev are on pace for those type of numbers. Last year in a slightly shortened season they helped their lines produce 24 and 22 goals respectively while they scored 9 and 11. Obviously this is a screwed up and shortened season so let's project their numbers for an 82 game season. Which means we are one sixth of the way thru (82). Blueger and Tanev are tracking over 40 goals 5v5. Blueger is on pace for 12 goals while Tanev's is for 24. Granted Tanev's goals scored are well above expectations but even if he cools off he should still reach 12-14.

I agree the offensive expectations for a 3rd line are a bit unrealistic around here. I think everyone wants Tampa's third line production.

Seems like most people here just want a 3rd line in general

Ahh ok, I didn't check his shooting percentage because I saw he had back to back years of 30 goals and figured that was the norm rather than now because the ducks suck.

No I think we just need to construct another bottom 6 line really. We know ZAR-Blue-Tanev and Guentz-Sid-Rust are good. Can Geno's line get it together is a question and obviously the other line is horsepoop.
