If the Hawks want to protect Murphy and Carlsson, and they have to protect Seabs and Keith, could they play Carlsson at forward for the last game, and then protect him as a forward? Then decide during training camp next year that he doesn't cut it a a winger, and move him back to defense. |

I wouldn’t let Strome go right now. Even if Toews comes back, the announcement said his condition left him lethargic/no energy. Without any announcement, I assume he is not skating. If he came back, you cannot count on him being an 18 minute guy, hopefully he could do 15 max.
If Dach comes back, does his wrist heal like Kane or Kruger. Even if he heals fast, I doubt he can take any face offs. Kane said it took a year for his wrist to feel full strength. As a matter of fact, Dach might have to play wing permanently.
I also don t get the impression that Strome does not try on defense. JC has never been shy of taking away ice time from a player he thinks is not competing. He did that with Strome last year, even moving him off center and putting on LW. He hasn’t t been benched this year.
I don’t get the hate either that he should be more as a #3 draft choice. We didn’t select him #3. He is a center making $3 mil. Per year. He is the 101st highest paid center in the league, considering that 31 teams and 3 centers per team means he is being paid like a third/fourth line center. I think that is pretty good value. |

If you don’t think Strome doesn’t try without the puck why do you think he’s so bad defensively? Defense requires effort physically and mentally. What skill Kane has can’t for the most part be taught. Anyone can be good defensively provided they are willing to learn the positioning, defensive awareness and understanding of the defensive responsibilities. I’m not sure I can say Strome tries defensively.

Don't think the league would approve that since Carlsson has played his whole career as a D.

Reports that Subban is starting tonight and Wallmark will be in the lineup, too.
Hagel playing 2nd line bumping Kurashev to 3rd line.
Johnson in and Highmore out.
Lankinen is the backup, not Delia. |

Konyrod compared DeBrincat to Datsyuk again (3rd time now by my last count). I love DeBrincat's dominant season so far but being in Datsyuk's class is rarefied air.
Galchenyuk traded again, this time to the Leafs. |

Compared them how? Both have last names that start with the same letter? Cuz that’s where the comparisons should end. Konroyd...smh |

I like how Cat is playing but comparing him to Datsyuk? That's what legalizing pot will do. |
