When Fleury got shipped to Vegas I predicted he would solidify his case for the HOF. Certainly feels like he has by now. - MacPatty
Yes...great Pen!
He had some tough years with us. But since leaving he has played in a goalie friendly systems for coaches that insulate him! He played great tonight....have we won a cup since shipping him off? Do you think the guys miss him? |

Malkin had pretty damn good stats. So maybe everyone should stop complaining about him then. - 10inchTerror
Malkin line was bad this game, those stats are the whole season not this game. |

Even though I knew it was technically the right thing to do (Keeping Murray over MAF) I was on record with my buddies I'd rather keep Flower even if it meant 100% that we'd never win another Cup with him
Now I'm not sure we'll ever win one without him

I was responding to the statement that Malkin’s had good stats, which he hasn’t, but whatever dawg. |

That was my mistake. I was originally commenting on just the last game where I thought his stats were good, but as I scrolled to the right on natural stattrick I actually ended up looking at the persons stats 1 line below his, which were Rust’s. I know the chart you posted was for the season, my original comment wasn’t regarding that though. I’m just illiterate. |

It's ok, beginning of the season. You'll improve as the season goes on. |

Barnaby says give me a chance. I have about a decade of bad stats saying this is just the way that I am, but I think a fresh start here and I’ll be a new me. |

I'm glad Matheson had a good game, so I don't say this with any expectations based on this game, it's simply what I would imagine is in their minds...
If Matheson continues on this trajectory, it makes Dumo or Petts a huge trade piece to upgrade the forward group.
That said, I'm not putting the cart before the horse. I'd like to see MM put together a string of games like this before getting excited here. - Rinosaur
I'd probably shop Dumoulin and McCann right now. Winger for Geno. Marchessault or Hoffman would be decent gets. |

He had some apples at the beginning of the season but he wasn’t a burying the biscuit. Seems to have regained his scoring touch recently and that’s a very good thing for the Pens. |

Yeah. Gotta shop Pettersson. He’s gonna bring back a better return IMO. |

Pettersson for Fabbri? Can be the 3c.
I can throw in Bobby Ryan too. |

Assuming we only have the horses to cobble together one major acquisition, what do you think is more important to this team? Scoring winger with a right shot or a 3C? |

Scoring winger with a right shot I think. Honestly.. I might wait a few weeks to see what the PP looks like right now, as last game they looked like they had a purpose. If that continues, I wouldn't care if it was LW or RW that could score, just one that could push Zucker or Kap down the lineup. |

I think I agree. If ZAR-Blueger-Tanev can continue to find offense that’s your third line. I prefer to bet on them and give Malkin a finisher. Then maybe you can try McCann back at C with whoever gets bumped down from Zucker and Kapanen to see if they can make a more offensively potent bottom six line to compliment the ZAR-Blueger-Tanev line |

This would be my goal too. Help both lines by helping geno. I think the way rust is scoring again will have to make teams pay attention to him on the pp. McCann with either zucker or Kap could be a fairly tenacious forechecking line.
Hextall and Burke in the press box for pens practice today. Looks like they are monitoring hard.. but what are they monitoring... |

That's kind of what I was thinking. McCann-Kap or Zucker-McCann on a line, and replace one of them with a goal scorer for Geno. Then the only plug on the roster is Scevouir. BUT I also think that... packaging McCann and Pettersson could bring back a nicer return.
I honestly don't know enough about MTL's blue line... but I wonder if they'd have an interest in Pettersson? Pettersson for Tatar? Similar cap hits. |

Honestly, what I liked the best was the puck movement on the PP. It wasn't just perimeter passing, they moved around to open lanes and then fed pucks through those lanes. |

I would think my only concern for McCann Kap, or zucker McCann, would be finishing. They sound like 2/3’s of a faster buzz saw. Might be an ideal shot for Poulin/Légaré to come up as snipers for the line. Sheltered minutes with 2 responsible players could make up for their lack of readiness to have a (hopeful) finisher on the line with no acquisition cost. At least worth a 9 game sample anyways. |
