well I guess the good news is that Montreal showed nothing tonight.

Leafs gave this one away. They had a chance to push the Habs a little further into a tailspin.

I bet if Gallagher had 500 more chances he couldn't knock a point shot, straight down, no bounce, right where his blade would be for the shot. But you make your own luck. The Habs badly outworked the Leafs in the 3rd and they got the bounce.

So's your head but you somehow manage.

Brave, really.

Good response. Lol

They miss Simmonds at this point. Too soft. Lost most of the puck battles and turned the puck over. Habs had no fear of getting hit.

Hopefully with Jumbo back, it means Vesey gets put on the 4th line.

SLow and boring game.

Slow enough to see how sh1te Engvall really is!

Nylander....wtf is going on with him. So weak on the puck, avoids hits at all cost. Is he injured or just being a pu$$y? (I'm not a Nylander hater so it's not that, he's playing like complete trash)

Can't win them all. But....

- Barb34

He's definitely not the type of player you can count on in close games, or in the playoffs.

I have faith that Keefe is giving Dubas feedback on him, and recommending action. Ive never seen a more cowardly player than him.

2 out of 12 forwards won't make enough of a difference. Matthews and Mariner not great tonight. Willy and Rielly with the ninja dust. 3rd line awful.
- TheMussel

Matthews not good tonight.

Missed that shot early that he rarely misses and then the lacklustre lay with thr goalie out.

terrible 3rd period for the Leafs.

Agreed. Leafs still have a ways to go.

They're just so disinterested
- TheMussel

Yeah, they deserved this loss. I hope Keefe tears a strip off of them.

They are the better team, hands down. There is zero excuse to lose to Montreal.

Matthews was pretty good tonight, I thought. But didn't have his usual beast mode engaged. That whole 6-5 was just putrid. No effort, 0 urgency, and it didn't even look like they had a plan. Frustrating as hell.

The team tonight reminded me of the JVR Bozak Kessel line.

Lots of talent, not much investment.

Most of the team took half the night off. They had no luck at all in the first 2 periods and mailed it in in the 3rd.

We keep hoping Willy changes and starts to show some grit and determination. Just never seems to happen with any consistency.

The Leafs don't need to hit to get the puck and play with it, as our 11 wins have shown.

This was not a physical intimidation by the Habs by any stretch, so let's not invent a narrative that fits our cranky and drunk on the couch vibe here

Get (frank)ed. They're still first in the league. They won't win every game.

Really lol habs showed exactly what every other team has been showing the Leafs. When the heat comes, and the game gets “tough”, they can’t handle it. The reason why this skilled team can’t win a playoff series even against the Columbus F’n Blue Jackets lol

Same story. Another chapter will be written in round 1 this year.

They had 3 days to prepare for this game. They knew Montreal was going to be determined. Habs just played 3 games in 4 nights, yet leafs looked gassed in the 3rd. Inexcusable.

The leafs basically did what they wanted, low event no chances. There wasn't much going on for Either team offensively, you have to think that the leaf come out on top with that sort of game with their talent.

If they need to add one more thing at the deadline, it's another player who plays a heavy game. Not having Simmonds hurt tonight.

Keefe pulled a Babcock. I don't know if I find timeouts all that effective, but I guess if they were, it would have been smart to use one, yeah.

They should have had 3 or 4 in the first, not much luck and Price played well to keep the Habs in it.

Oh, and I (frank)ing hate when announcers mention like 5 times how the Leafs are undefeated carrying a lead into the third.
