It will be difficult to make a meaningful trade without unloading salary and IMO the extras on the team are limited - Kerfoot and Giraffe. Not much coming back for those. I would think Leafs are in a holding pattern until the TDL and they can add then.

We’re doing well defensively and until we see what things look like with Thornton and Robertson back I don’t see the point of any of the proposed additions. And then there’s Simmons. Move Vessey or someone or someone for a better, same price Vessey if there’s something appealing comes along but this is bright, shiny object time

There is no need for a trade right now, try to find out what you have and where you need to improve and add at the deadline.

If they accrue enough space till the deadline they can fit in a pretty big cap hit.
