Fixed and yes - Steven_Seagull
I like Tanev because he made Hughes a Norris candidate. He could do the same for Sandin.
That trade would make the Leafs a nearly perfect team. |

So since Dubas has given up on that Sandin prospect, would you trade him for former 6th overall pick Jake Virtanen? Fix that top 6 rite up. - DrunkenCanuck
'
Virtanen is shyte. No one wants him, he wouldn't make the Leafs taxi squad. Doubt even the Kraken takes him if he is exposed.

He’s the new Frankie Corrado. Marincin above Sandin makes no sense. Why not trade him for a solid offer if he’s not going to play? - DrunkenCanuck
I counter with Lillygreen and Vesey for Tanner Pearson (retained) |

Bennett with another goal - Steven_Seagull
That’s 10 in his last 65 regular season games with 5 assists. But one good playoff makes up for that I guess. But he wants to be traded so I guess he’s our guy |

Still better than most of our bottom-6, and with better hands than Mikheyev.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Edit: and as for the bold. Bennett has 11 goals and 19 points in 30 playoff games. (6 goals and 13 points in the last 15 games). Seems like he does well in the playoffs. In comparison, Nylander has 5 goals and 15 points in 25 playoff games. |

Why do we want to give up assets for a $2.55M RFA for our bottom 6? Or did you want to go full AA and replace him for Nylander? |

His remaining daily cap hit is less than 1.9M and is decreasing every day.
He’s depth. He’s better than most of the guys in the bottom-6 - an area that is criticized for not being good enough - and he’ll help that. Ideally they add a legitimate top-6 winger, though.
Why did Tampa trade a 1st and a prospect for Coleman then another 1st for Goodrow? All they did was improve their chances to win the Cup. Which they did. |

Going full AA is a major improvement over going full Santard.

So this morning obviously sucks.
If we had won, we’d be seven points up on the Habs.
Instead we are three.
Tavares and Willy need to get their poop together..

They didn't trade a top 6 player for them though, that's the difference.
No one saying we don't need to improve these areas, but don't weaken top end to fix bottom end. |

Who’s trading a top-6 forward?* I only used Nylander as a comparison. I could’ve used Marner or Matthews instead.
*besides AA |

That's why I don't get why teams last year just stood aside and allowed him to go to net front and score more than anyone. Fix must've been in. |

The rub with Bennet is he's not going to fit into the Leafs bottom 6 cap allocation going forward and he sees himself as a top 6 guy.
So you trade for him ONLY if you believe he's a top 6 Hyman type of guy and you're ready to pay him 3+ for a couple years.

Come on Bennett, throw away the chicken poop gun, you don't just want to pull the trigger, you want to put the knife in me, and look me in the eye, and see what's going on in there when you turn it, that's what you want to do, right? |

This D (yes, it's early) is the best I've seen in Toronto for more than a decade. I'm taking a temporary break from trading Willie for a D.
Things may change in the summer with the expansion draft and depending on how the playoffs go. |

Bennett career renewal strategy
Step 1. Ask for trade - done
Step 2. Wait for Leaf fans to declare you a legitimate top 6 forward - done
Step 3. Wait for Dave Nonis to return as Leaf GM |
