Also the offer was laughable, and mulling over if they could afford him wasn't the reason they needed 7 days. And don't forget, they got him at such a deal that it only took an offer sheet to agree to terms with Aho.

I'm part way there with you. Good in the sense I'm not sure if you'd find a taker for him in the offseason or not. Bad in the sense he's a useful player at least for this season and losing him would hurt depth. Still, I'd probably be ok with it due to long term cap impact
