I will say this for the third period. The Caps are flying, but the Pens are giving them very little to work with.

Running the goalie = legal. No pushback.

It's a penalty and a free beatdown if that happens at the other end. Burke and Hexy are watching.

I'm loving the fact they keep trying to skate in the goalie first before getting plays to the point.

That line has just been pretty terrible all around.

Easily Jarry. Malkin is a close 2nd. I think Malkin will eventually come around. Not so sure about Jarry.
- madmike71

Malkin should come around, but there aren't any other realistic options for dealing with him either. He'll turn around or he won't and all we can do is bear the brunt

The Jarry situation will need to be dealt with. I don't think it's an option to rely on DeSmith all season. I personally hope there is fire to this MAF smoke, (just because I'm a big Flower homer) but I don't see how a deal realistically gets done

Would you guys be willing to switch wingers on 1&2?

Sacrifice the obvious chemistry that Sids line has now for a jumpstart to the 2nd line and hope Sids line still drives play.

#4 and #5 both playing well. POJ is coming down to earth a little IMO...bound to happen.

Malkin had put together a string of games where it looks like he was coming around and has just laid an absolutely brutal egg today.

The Tom Wilson Cheap Shot Machine is in high gear right now. Refs ignoring everything, real surprisingly.

The Jarry problem can be addressed by fixing the defensive coverage problem, which has been improving since MM has returned

One hit , 29% on face offs...he is 6foot 4 and plays like he does need pads

I will give credit where credit is due. Matheson has played a solid all around game today.

Playing top pair and reading Letang's style is too big an ask of a guy breaking in. Not that they have a better option ATM.

He plays soft but he himself isn’t really doing anything terrible.

I think his best play of the game was laying out to save a breakaway. He's had more than a solid game. He has been very good today.

Lehner hurt. MAF playing extremely well. Vegas isn't moving MAF this sesaon. Gonna need to find another answer.

He's quietly made a few positionally sound plays today.

It doesn't change the fact he was garbage this year so far up until this game lol.

Certainly wouldn't happen today, but I think Vegas is desperate to move that contract and if Leher comes back and plays decent, they may jump at the opportunity to get it off the books

Pretty clear DeBoer doesn't have confidence in MAF. Even in the playoffs last year, Flower would have a great game and he'd go right back to Lehner

If the Penguins make a goalie move I don't believe it will be a major move like some people are hoping.

I'd expect them to trade for someone like Dubnyk or Miller.
